RE: KFIR- The Ultimate Mirage!!!
WOW! Very nice. When I was in the Marine Corps we used Kfir a/c as agressors. We still may. They were a good a/c, powered by J-79 turbojets same as the Phantoms. Have you flown her yet? What a pretty plane. I would love to see some in flight shots-

RE: KFIR- The Ultimate Mirage!!!
There are very few delta's I like, the Kfir is one of the ones I really like, yours looks awesome, makes me wish I still had my JHH Kfir kit that I had years ago.
I like the Kfir, the Rafale, and the Viggen, the rest are ok but nothing I'd model based on looks. Very nice job on your Kfir! When I had my kit I wanted to do it in the scheme that had the big orange triangle's on the wings and fin. Looking forward to hearing how your maiden goes! |
RE: KFIR- The Ultimate Mirage!!!
Here's a few more inflight pictures from the 13th Annual Big Apple Jet Rally. The KFIR originally had a sim jet 1200. It was almost lost on its first flight because it was too tail heavy. After adjusting the CG (1 inch foward of the original CG), it flew very well, but the sim jet 1200 did not seem to put out enough power for my taste. I sold the sim jet only to find out that it was set on the lowest power setting which was about 8 pounds of thrust. I hope that it will fly much better with the wren 54 which puts out about 15 pounds of thrust.
The paint used was water based house paint and water based poly. The finish was extremely light. Does anyone know what the CG is on this airplane? |

I'm sending a PM with my email, etc. Chris JHI are not the only ones to want pics for their website! We'd like one too. That is really unusual and I'm sure, as Chris says, the 54Mk 3 will fly the heck out of it. Sara Parish Wren Turbines |

RE: KFIR- The Ultimate Mirage!!!
Not all of them. I saw a pair at the MCAS Miramar Airshow just 2 years ago. Doug, The US military returned the Kfir's by mid 1989. The ones at Fallon are owned by a Civilian company who has 5 of them. They are all C-2 models though I believe (rather than the C-1's the F21's were based on) http://www1.airliners.net/photo/ATAC-(Airborne-Tactical/ATAC-(Airborne-Tactical/0969182 |
