Skymaster tanks warning
1 Attachment(s)
I am doing service on an f18 and noticed the clunks were not moving. So I took the tanks apart and found that the tygon supplied with the kit got super stiff and they would barely move. I decided to put some new oring type fittings in and get ride of the leaky black ones. The fittings fit the hole with out modifying the tank.

RE: Skymaster tanks warning
Where did you get the tank hardware?
|
RE: Skymaster tanks warning
I make the fittings and sell them to jet-tec and Dreamworks.

Great tip Paul, thanks for the heads up!!!![sm=thumbs_up.gif]
Paul, I looked on Dreamworks sight and didn't see your fittings, all I saw were the BVM ones. Are you in the process of selling to Todd or has he just not updated the site yet? |

They are really stiff even when they are new, so most throw them away and installs real quality tygon during the buildig process. I also throw away the supplied black stoppers and use Du-Bro's instead. Don't know if it's nescesary though.... Liked the fittings very much. Looks nice:) |
RE: Skymaster tanks warning
I thought that it was generally recognised that the tubing supplied with most Chinese ARF's is not real tygon and is too stiff for clunks. I always throw that stuff away and buy real tygon.
Most hobby shops stock Dubro Tygon, which is Tygon F-4040-A. Even F-4040-A should be replaced every two years. Joe |
RE: Skymaster tanks warning
Im just going to ship his first shipment today of 18. I ran out of some off the parts and couldn't make them fast enough for jet tec.

RE: Skymaster tanks warning
My tubing Skymaster supplied with 1/6 F16 is also on the stiff side. Most of the hardware supplied with kit I will not use.Pushrods very soft metal bent while installing.one was bent out of the box.Air cylinders not very good qaulity and wrong size.Basic airframe very nice.Good detail good fit,but some formers not glued into fuse square. In the end I will have a very nice airplane when done, but a little more work fixing the factory mistakes. Also used the BVM tank hardware after plugging up the holes the factory drilled in the wrong place,(right in front of a former.
