Worzey,

Where did you buy your Bobcat from? Was it a UK retailer?

If so, I am pretty sure that the legal responsibilty for sorting out problems lies with them and not the manufacturer. If you can I would return it to the seller for them to sort out.

If it was purchased from a dealer outside the UK I would definately send it back to BVM to get fixed. You didn't pay top dollar to repaint it or cover it with sticky tape. I have heard that BV is much better with the telephone and not much so with email so you might want to try giving him a ring.

BTW, it was me that had the problem with the stab block. Whilst a bit annoyed that this error occurred I cannot fault the service given by Ali and BVM. I was basically asked what I wanted BVM to do (whether I wanted them to fix it, replace it or whether I should fix it myself) and they were willing to do whatever I decided. I popped it in the post to Ali and a few weeks later I got it back, fixed and in perfect condition.

Had a reply from BVM yesterday.

Turns out the current batch of planes he currently has in stock also have the mismatched paint on the wings and new stock won't be arriving for 12-14 weeks. BV tells me that his current stock are going to have a silver band painted along the LE to hide the mismatch. I'll be doing the same once i've found out what paint can be used on the wings without effecting the existing paint.

Yes, I did buy it from a UK dealer who did offer me a full refund. Unfortunately, by the time I had noticed the problem, some of the construction had been started (servo hatches drilled, trailing edge of tailplane had been slightly releived to allow down movement as it fouled the elevator, tanks assembled and wheel axels cut down to allow Jet A-1 legs to be fitted) so the dealer would have been stuck with a "second hand" value kit. Besides, other than the wing paint, I love the rest of the model and didn't want to give it back.

Hi guys,

a pilot of Jets from Brazil bought a BANDIT, that in the first flight opened the superior panels of the wing, the airplane completely was destroyed! the BVM only offered a discounting in the purchase of a new. Without a doubt some is the best airplanes, but I do not know if Bob is optimum salesman… finishes to buy our first BANDIT…
we go to travel to the USA to bring the airplane, and only to use to advantage to visit our great friend CARLOS from RTI. I ask to all: which the value of a BVM? I answer: as a flyer, it does not have price, but, Bob would have in them to value more as customers. it is my opinion

You could use Flitemetal or something similar that would be applied over the paint.
