So if I crash a JetLegend, I can expect Skymaster to give me a new jet because they did the original design ?

I may trade the F-15 and 3 Gripens for part ownership of FEI Bao

is this a good deal?

Look out China here I come

What is Anton's address?

Dan,
You were the one who got Ron headed in the right direction by insisting he stick with a prop job and get some flying skills first. This eventually led up to Ron being able to handle a jet and getting his waiver.

I am thinking about asking a major jet manufacturer for a free kit as I may crash it on its maiden, who do you think I should ask first? maybe jets should come with a fly first pay later policy in case they don't survive the first flight[X(]

You guys can come practice at my field. You might have heard of it, it's called Beijing.

I recently traded my part ownership of FEI Bao and have become a part time Emperor Of China.
Or EOC is what my friends call me.

I'm on duty monday - wednesdays 7pm to 4am

If it wasn't for Dan, Ron would probably be out of the hobby.

Let me also add Wayne Layne also. He has been a huge help. Wayne took over buddy boxing Ron on jets, while Dan was teaching him how to fly the trainers.

Yes I would like to thank Dan, wayne, Tony and even Vin for all the help in the hobby. Just think how great it would have been if we did noy have all the Kevin BS at the field. I know I personally would have been up more than 30K.

Ron,

Interesting X-Large photos in your post #85 above;really brings out the detail. I noticed the JR transmitter case. I wonder if Futaba is breathing a sigh of relief since he wasn't flying their 2.4 FASST and thereby avoiding overheating being claimed as the cause.

Thanks Vinnie, but I had to insist on prop jobs as I did not have a waiver at the time. Even if I did have a waiver I would have made Ron fly a trainer of some sort, to learn how to fly first. (Ron chose an f-22 raptor by H 9) Tony and Wayne taught Ron how to fly jets properly and Schulman polished Rons skills.
I was corrected about this last night so I thought it should be posted.
I'm pretty sure what needed to be said around here has been posted let's leave it at that. Go fly, have fun!

Earl, you are a little off. Wayne trained with him. I aggravated him, with Vin's grapevine skills.:D Somewhere I have the emails to prove it.

Trying to be objective here....

What would be the difference if Kmarks wanted to buy two F-18F's in a month? Would he be "right" in asking for a discount for buying 2 in such a short time? Would he be "right" in asking for the second one to be free?

I don't think I'd give a guy a "buy one get one free" deal. I would even think he'd be a little off, by asking for such a deal.

Is Kmarks the same guy that piloted a jet into the pilot stands @ florida jets?

Ron, I feel your emense pain with your bandit. The EXACT thing happened to me with my first jet. The difference being that I already knew how to fly airplanes and I would NOT have done what my CD did to my jet. But being the FNG and not knowing if a fast jet reacted differently I thought the changes made sense (although I set the darn thing up EXACTLY like the manufacture suggested).

I was flying my next jet much better than my CD had ever flown a jet. I won't mention his name because I think he learned his lesson seeing me eat COMPLETELY the $7,000 dollar loss with a shrug of my shoulders and with a determination to not fail. He should certainly never offer to help ANYBODY again, even though he is a nice enough guy.

I won't let him forget it though...;)

I've seen Ron fly and he does just fine. We all have good, and bad, flying days. It just so happens that some people have mostly bad flying days. Apparently Kmarks and "my" CD just happen to only have bad flying days.

HERE IS THE BRO CODE OF HONOR:

1: If you make a change on someone's airplane because, in your opinion, the owner did not set it up right and the airplane fails because of your change, YOU, the changee, must pony up some cash. At least the cost of the radio.

2: The changes you are making must be thoroughly explained to the owner and the owner should understand the rational behind your change. If the owner does not understand, then the airplane should NOT be flown. If it has flown successfully before, then the changes should NOT be made.

My VERDICT:

Kmarks, if you indeed do the changes to the bandit, because you didn't like "the feel" of the radio and it was flying just fine before, yup you owe him a bandit.

AND it still sounds like you dumb thumbed the Hornet. Don't feel too bad though, we all do that.

If you are dumbthumbing alot of jets (more than 2-3 a year), you should not be helping anyone but yourself. And you should be probably be helping your self in a Hanger 9 Piper Cub.

Raf, I think the main difference between what you seem to be suggesting above, and what is alleged to have happened in this case, is : in your case you are not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eye's.

There is a substantial difference between saying "Can you give me some discount for being a repeat customer ?", and trying to get a discount under false pretences by telling fibs about the circumstances of the crash.

.. and no, I'm NOT going to say that I love you too... [X(]

Ah, I see. He called SM and intentionally said that his F-18F was a defective one and wanted SM to give him new one?

Well, maybe it was. But from the sounds of it, it was just his lack of flying skillz, on that jet. [X(]

As it is shaking out though, he may be lacking skillz on even other airplanes! [:o]

But who am I to talk. I landed Dantley's flash on the grass at tomcats. I didn't land short, I just missed the runway! [:@]

I kicked my own butt.
