FOD screen on a Bobcat
I have a P70 on the plane with not much room for a screen. If someone is running one with one what are you using or with the way the engine is semi protected not worry about it.
Thanks, Jed |
RE: FOD screen on a Bobcat
Jed....I ran a screen on my Bobcat XL (kit) with a P120. I figured it was very cheap insurance....
PS...I heard it was sat on after I sold it. No screen for that. |
RE: FOD screen on a Bobcat
A FOD screen is cheap protection...my P-120 powered XL has had one from day one..2003

The new Jetcat screens are more compact than the sink strainer types they used to sell.....

RE: FOD screen on a Bobcat
I originally ran the engines on my Bobcat without a FOD screen, coz Uncle Bob said to do it that way.
A $400+ pebble convinced me otherwise. Many of the commercial FOD screens didn't fit the Bobcat at the time, so I just went to my local hardware store and picked up a sink strainer, a big rubber grommet that will fit over the starter, and some thin rubber sheet. RE: FOD screen on a Bobcat
Thanks guys,
I have made my own FOD screen for my Titan on my F22 and p80's on other airframes. The Bobcat with P70 on it is a very tight space, so will the Jetcat screen be the best choice? Without haveing to cut on the fuselage. Jed |
