Scott,

Never gave it a thought until you pointed it out. It's entirely possible that I have had that happen but never realized it. I don't ever remember a " Lack " of elevator authority but there has been a time or two that things got a little squirrelly entering the flair. Nothing real drastic and only now and then. I guess I have been shrugging it off to being a tad too slow or turbulence. Next time I take it out I will pay a lot closer attention to see if I can identify if that is in fact taking place. Thanks for pointing that out.

ORIGINAL: turnnburn

Who said BVM wasnt happy with it ? The guy from England was critcal of the airfoil which in my opnion is ridiculous. This is one of the easiest and best flying DF jets EVER. They make a great Turbine powered model as well but the wing loading does get a little high.

Hello, it's the guy from England here.

Until I sold it on, I had a Maverick turbine and also flew it hundreds of times including some at the 2002 FIJR. I agree that in its time it was the best all-round jet available so I'm not saying the Maverick was a bad plane, I'm just saying that things have moved on a long way since then and although there are a few die hards who would buy one if BV did re-introduce it, 99% of people who wanted that type of plane would buy the better flying Bandit or Electra . If the airfoil was up to scratch then it would not have needed droops to keep it from tip stalling and would still be used by BVM today.

What about the Ultra Viper?

Would the droops be a good choice also?
