Nem BVM Plane arf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wait....the Bobcat (kingcat) series looks like the Hustler? Am I wrong in thinking that the original BC came out before the Hustler?

The King Cat looks like the Hustler? That's a good one.

WHMC
Nope-I just rang and asked the questions!-I wasn't told to keep things secret-Until the price is fixed, I guess BVM don't want to mess people around-The price I pitched is between figures I was given. DW |
Niiiiiiice!
Ho - leeee - cow! That is a nice looking airplane! The aesthetics of the BobCat never did much for me but the KingCat is a sexy airplane!
Bob, Pattie, David and BVM team -- great job. You guys should all (not just David) come to Maine for the Maine Jet Rally. Coastal Maine in the Summer / Fall is heaven. I guarantee we can find room for you all so you will not have to waste money on hotels. Oh and of course bring the KingCat! Antony |
Nem BVM Plane arf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw Bob fly it a bunch at Afterburner all day Friday. it is gorgeous. You can tell the wing loading is light, it slows way down. BV has another winner.

Hi,
Anybody know where the plane is manufactured? I'm interested to know. |

BVM ARF
Hi,I asked this question and was told its built here :) got one on order, hopefully he will do a military scheme..
|
Nem BVM Plane arf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BV had some color prints of the different schemes available. One was the gray and white Navy scheme that you see on jets once in a while. Very cool looking.

King Cat at MS Afterburner
I just saw the King Cat fly at the Mississippi Afterburner.
It is something else! It flys like a big pattern plane. Bob flew it at about the speed you would see at your local flying field and if flew beautifully. He did a bunch of pattern maneuvers and then ran it up to high speed. Even at a high speed it is so big it does not look nearly as fast as other jets. It just floats on landing. Would be perfect on a grass or short field. Hal Jackson, MS |
Nem BVM Plane arf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi,
So these ARFs are U.S. made? Who's doing that kind of work? Are they building those in Florida? Those looks sweet :-) I heard that they can fly ridiculously slow, too. |
Anybody willing....
Anybody willing to buy me one? :D Looks like I found my next money saving reason. Heck make me the SLC BVM Rep and we'll call it a even swap!
Looks awesome. Hope someday to get me one. Cheers, Jason |
Nem BVM Plane arf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO IS IT BUILT AT THE BVM FACTORY OR IS MADE BY ONE OF THOSE AFTF PLACE'S LIKE FIBRECLASSICS OR COMPOSITE ARTF?

Funny someone lists the pricing when BV himself told us that he did not have the pricing finalized.
The plane flew very well and will be offered in about 4 color schemes plus an all white version to start with. The color schemes look very nice. The plane flew very slow and the stall was incredible. BV stalled it several times by only holding back pressure on the stick, no aileron compensation and every time it stalled straight ahead, just dropping the nose. It looked like it snapped well both inside, and outside snaps. I only saw him do a couple of spins, and the entry, and exit was crisp. He had a P-160 on it but set at the same power as a P-120 and had plenty of power. The modeller only has a little work to do to get it flying and that was gluing in a few fuselage formers, control horns, and making up a few pushrods. It looks like another winner. BTW it does not look like the Hustler it looks like a bigger version of the Bobcat. |
KingCat

The Canopy
For a long time now, BVM has had a very distinctive look to their canopys on all of their sport jets...Aggressors, Mavericks, Bandits etc.
The Kingcat departed from that particular canopy style in favor of a more traditional bubble style which I think added to it's flowing lines. The nose section is a bit more rounded shape too. It's a good looking plane! Flight performance was nothing short of awesome...especially the slow flight/landing capability. I think it had one of the shortest takeoff rolls at MS Afterburner. |
KC
I love the airplane. Name is hard to get used to. Me and joe were thinking Tomcat. It looks like a F18 nose. How about HornetCat, thats easier huh?lol Or Superhornetcat thats even simpler. Anyways its a very high quality airplane. Will be the best quality arf available. A couple of times it took off, I never saw rollout, it was so short. Big airplane capable of flying on short fields. Im ready for the high speed test!!!!

Tomcat...
Tomcat is a F-14, F-18 is a Hornet! :D
Regardless, the Hornet Nose is a nice and welcomed touch. I like it and I want it! This may become my first jet! Jason |
Nem BVM Plane arf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think with all these arf jet like the new viper aremachi and the rurofighter eta. The high price with jets is no more to tolerate
Thank god for these other companies like y/a cermark A/D jet can be afforded by many more want to be jet pilot. :D |

I have got to have one of those.

I asked Santa for an all composit Bobcat. This is what I got KingCat at a Kings ransom...

KingCat
It flew O.K. with the P-160 cranked down to 80-120N, but this plane is hankerin' for a P-200 or AT-400. Turn it down and you have a docile trainer, crank it up and you have a smokin' unlimited pattern plane. Love to see Chip or Quique on the sticks with this one.
At 80" wing span it's IMAA legal. Time to enter this bird in an IMAC contest. Hmmm! Do they sanction turbines?? Tom |
Jets and IMAA
Hi Tom,
I wish I would have met you this past weekend. Anyway the IMAA specifies that for ducted fan aircraft the combined length and wingspan must be 140" making aircraft with much smaller wingspans than 80" legal. They don't mention turbines in their description on what's legal. |
Nem BVM Plane arf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
140" has been the standard for jets for the IMAA forever. I have taken my Bobcat and Phantom to several Big Bird events. Most of the time even if it would not have met the 140" measurements those guys would have let the jets fly just for the cool factor.
