I'm finishing an A-4 Byron kit and I don't have the original manual, does anyone out there know where the CG is?

Byron A-4 C of G

Hi Bruno

According to the manual I have, The C of G should be 1-7/8" ahead of the engine former.

I don't know about you guys but I had to add 1-1/2 lbs to the nose!

Since I got this kit with formers installed I am not sure if they were glued on the right place - could you please help me a little more. How many inches fron the Leading or trailing edge?

Thanks Again!

C of G position

OK

C of G is 1 3/4" ahead of the front edge fo the wing spar slot in the side of the fuse. Or 9 5/8" back from the leading edge of the wing at the root.

If you using the original wings, the main engine former has to be in the correct location because the spar retainers are attached to it. BTW, the spar retainers should be attached to the back of the former and not the front.

If you need anything else, let me know before I put all back in the box.

That seems a bit excessive. What kind of configuration do you have?

If it helps you any, the CG on the full-size A-4 is 26.4% MAC. Knowing this, you could plot it and safely set it at about 25% MAC.

Good luck!

I'm running an OS91 with Hurricane Fan, I put the rudder and elevator servos under the rudder - perhaps that is causing the problem.

Tail Servos

Hi W0mbat

I wouldn't think that puttin two servos in the tail would cause you w add 1 1/2 lbs of weight to the nose unless the Hurricane fan is a fair bit heavier than the Byron fan.
