HELP F-15 Elev neutral position

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,

I need help to find the elevator neutral position on Xtreme Jets F-15. I don't know how to make this.

Thanks
Fabio

Ola Fabio, presuming that this is the same "shape" of the Skymaster, Jetlegend, etc.. and this is the case in my opinion, the trailing edge of the stab aligns with the extreme point of the fuselage. From this point, the elevator throw movement should be 5cm up and down.

Um abraço, Enrique.

Hi Enrique,

How are you?

Ok... but I still have a doubt about your information. When aligns the stab with extreme point, I can see the stab a little UP in comparasion with the wings. I think the incidence wings and stab is 0(zero)... or no?

I sent e-mail to Anton but a guy called Jonh reply me without details about this.... no satisfatory answer.

Thanks
Fabio

Yes, the stabs look a little like "up" trimmed in relation to the wing root, but this is normal.. tonight I will take a pic of mine in a sideview and post it here, just for you have a better reference.

Enrique,

I'm still need to confirm the correct neutral position in my F-15. Can you help me again? Please see the pics and let me know some conclusion!

Thanks

You are fine, and don´t worry about the pitch trim, as the elevator response on the F-15 is very soft and nice.

Presuming your CGis about on the right spot ( indicated by the manual) this stab position will make you fly straight and level at cruising speed. Of course, right after takeoff you will need to hold a little "up"stick until the speed builds up... meanwhile you may concentrate in triming the aleirons wich are must faster in response than the elevators. Aspotter may be helpful for doing this at the maiden flight.

Good luck with the maiden, and if possible send us a video so Juninho can enjoy it too! :-)

Enrique,

Please.. let me know your control throws setup.

Elevator___ mm
Aile ___mm
Rudder___mm
Flap ___mm or degree

Sorry for many questions.

The video is OK.

Abraços e obrigado.

No problem, and as your F-15 (unlike mine) has aleirons and flaps you should use this settings:

http://www.skymasterjet.com/image3/64.jpg

Obs: In my airplane Iuse 25%de-sensitizing exponential rate on both roll and pitch axis. also worth to mention that the F-15 is one of the few jets that don´t need flaps or a speed brake to slow down and land decently.

Abraço, Enrique.

Why haven't you checked all of this with an incidence meter???....Sure would take some of the guesswork out of all of this...

the problem with the incidence meter is that you have to guess anyway a reference to work with...http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f.../msn/50_50.gif

Yep, The simplest things sometimes will work well. Never underestimate the power of a quicky Digital sapshot to use as a diagostic tool. Use to have to get them developed. Now just takem and weep.

Not really....Zero the wing and then zero the stabto the wing...How hard is that???...Just chock up the plane so that the wing is at zero at the root and then adjust the stab accordingly...It's not difficult at all!!!

Sincerely I think that is not simple as that, but I really don´t want to disagree... You may be right!

Seriously...It really is that simple!!!...All you are doing is setting the stab incidence the same as the wing...Get the wing to zero and then match the stab...All there is to it!!.....http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f.../thumbs_up.gif.....

Kevin

PS...And trust me...If I were wrong there would be fifty guys jump on here and tell me so!!!.....http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...sn/biggrin.gif.....
