Skymaster Oleos/Oil Help

Guys,

Noticed that one of my ViperJet oleos has leaked its oil so I was about to fix it. However, the oil supplied is really thick to the point that it cannot even be sucked up into the syringe. Is this normal? Do I need to 'thin' it with anything? Can I use anything else?

Rgds,
Mark

you need RC car schock absorber oil , they come in different thickness.

I replaced the silicon lube in my SM F-86 struts with some OFNA 5000wt silicon differential lube. this worked out great and now the plane sits with the struts 1/2 compressed. on landings she justs sticks to the round and does not bounce.

I went with 3000 weight oil in the end - seems to have done the trick.

I use # 25 weigt from cars shocks ( I just noticed "cars" funny :D ) to lube the O rings inside the retracts, it makes them very smooth and you get less friction on the cylces ( more cycles per tank ) [&:] [8D]

:D :D
