Switching to 2.4
1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,
I have been flying turbines for the last 10 years with my trusty Futaba T8UAP. I have made thousands of flights with this TX and Futaba recievers, Futaba and Hitec servos and Never had one issue with this radio setup. I was forunate enough to win a New JR 9303 2.4 at Kentucky jets last year and I guess it is time to make the switch. I am planning to put it all my jets and I am wondering if anything special should be done. Right now I am using 2, 5 cell Nicads in all my set-ups. In my scratch built jets, I need the extra weight in the nose. I am running these packs and switches directly into the Futaba recievers, no regulators. Again I have never had a problem with this setup. Do you think I can just swap the recievers and use the same setup with the JR Recievers? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Ron |
RE: Switching to 2.4
My JR 8103 bit the dust severalweeks and so Idid exactly that purchased a new 9303 2.4 and started swapping receivers out in my big gas planes and my new Boomerang Sprint. I had no issues with the binding processes on the gassers as the have 1 battery no need to much weight in the nose when a G-62 is up there. When it came to the Jetthe binding went fine. However Ineeded to mark the binding port switch and turn it on first.IfIturned on the accessory power before it messes thingsup.Maybe a Radiotechcan elaborate...... </p> |

RE: Switching to 2.4
one thing I've found that needs to be done that isn't clearly pointed out anywhere is that after you've set everything up like you want it, go back and rebind. (on JetCat's this requires readjusting the ATV on throttle and then relearning the RC in the ECU). I've seen where allot of people skip that and when they first turn on their jet some surfaces jump to odd positions till the TX and RX link up, this is because they didn't do a rebinding after they set everything up (dual surfaces/mixing/etc...). make sure your gear switch is also in the down position when rebinding..........

RE: Switching to 2.4
As KC36330 states you will need to rebind after you have the entire model setup. This is clearly statedin the binding section of the 9303 2.4 manual as step 6 on page G-19.
Enjoy the new system!!! |
