This also causes pipe failure!!!
From what i read , the failure was not from a hot start"which he admitts" but from metal failure not related to the hot start. the pictures clearly show it . where are all the FEJ reps? some suppot system they have there.

It can also cause melted servo wires, Fiberglass distortion, melted air lines...

Ok guys, this thread was not started to reopen the issue of the failure of Andy's pipe. The thread was started to explain why the other threads have been closed down. If this thread continues down the road of discussing any other issue it will be closed as well. Because of the situation regarding the closure of the other three threads Mlacoste felt that he needed to give a reason to the RCU Jet Community as to why he took those actions, and that is what this thread here is for. Not to reopen and discuss the issues of the closed threads.

Why not leave one thread open?

Hi

That's good news because there is very usefull info in that thread, regardless of your interpretation for closing it down.

I own a FEJ F18 and I am greatfull that Andy posted what happened with him. I don't see it as a manufacturer bashing, because it might have SAVED MY PLANE

His shared experience and others are the core target for these kind of forums. I am sure that the manufacturer also had a chance to improve his produt as well.

Regards

Nuno

And?

If he was doing a "transmitter" start sequence, he could of just turned off the transmitter as soon as he saw what was happening which would cause the failsafe to kick in and shutdown the turbine (or starting sequence in this case)... And if on JR 2.4 if it wasn't bound after setup, that could of been how the elevators were when initially bound....

The failure happened after the wet start the next day. The jet only lost control, once that little section of pipe blew out of the tail as has been described in detail time after time.

All other pipe related issues or concerns need to go back to the origional thread.

Thanks,
Andy

Is it just me or does the photo in post 27 look photo-shopped? I see the shadow on the ground from the elevator but I don't see any shadows on the ground from the flame.... hrmmm....:D

Can you please tell us again how this all happened? It hasn't sunk in even after 6,041 times.
