Ya know I don't think you could say who is the best honestly. Everyone has different flying styles so its whatever you prefer really.

We all are!

On Realflight!:) Well, there are a few who think they are better than us, because they fly on computers with Aerofly and they have the PRO version.

The best in anything, are the ones you haven't heard of................YET! The rest are just really, really good, with a little bit of luck every now and then.

Welcome to RCU ;)

Actually anyone who takes a multi thousand dollar machine that has fire coming out of the tail with only an RF wave link between it and (him/her) self is a great RC Pilot!;)

Technically speaking who ever wins the World Jet Masters is the best jet pilot, of course we are talking "scale" here...
Its same as asking who is the best aerobatics or helicopter pilot. The world standard competition rankings are in my opinion will always be the true yard stick. That being said and in regard to jets specifically and the WJM, I do not agree with the gyro rule so therefor personally I do not recognize anyone that uses gyro's as really eligible for title of 'Worlds Best Pilot' but thats just me...:D

The reason I ask is because I was super impressed with Ralf Losemann. How many hours training do people like this put in?

Definitely sounds like he's the real deal, first, because I've never heard of him, and second because of his last name.

I'm sure he has flown too many hours to count, but if he's that good; shouldn't his last name be, Bestmann?

Well maybe not, then everyone would always think he's going to be in someone's wedding! Yes, keep his true idenity a secret with the last name trick, works everytime. ;)

Would love to see some video of him flying or at least a picture of whatever it is that he flies. He reminds me of this guy that lives online and keeps jumping all of us with this vectored thrust SU-47 out of no where on Ace Combat 6 and dissappearing, [:o] it's always the ones you never expect! :D

As far as i know there is no ranking system to determine the #1 flyer...

But some of my favorites to watch fly are:

Steve Elias, Wolfgang Klur, Stephen Volkari, Ali Machinely, Terry Nitch, Tom Cook, Dave Shulman, Tim Redelmen, & Larry Kramer

this guy each time he flies for 5 minutes ..take off.. fullspeed low flyby...fullspeed inverted low flyby and land.

whats spesial withthis guy is that he do this program for over 4 years each time he flies and how low he fly.

now days is one of my close friends too..

A name from the past but I think the raw talent of Mark Leavesley takes alot of beating. Every time I see him fly it's obvious that the guy don't even have to try.

Ali, shulman, and Todd of Waco, TX. If Todd ever showed up at a premier jet rally and flew a jet, he would give both Shui and Ali a run for their money. Shui might know who I'm talking about and most of you guys would have never heard of him.

The JWM is only technically the highest crowned pilot, the JWM is 50% flying 50% static, so alot depends on the model itself.
I'd say Ali has a fair cubboard full of awards and makes flying look really easy, especially with the type of models that most of us would be shaking just starting them up never mind flying them, which is always a sign of a real pro.
Really enjoyed shulmans last flight at JWM 2007 as I did Jon Tappins nice flowing style.

I think it hard to put this particular accolade on any one persons shoulders, we have some fine pilots in our sport, too many to list, and the obvious ones being, Ali Machinchy, David Shulman, and like Jason said Mark Leavsley is always a contender, and any one who has seen Geoff White fly his particular style of smooth flowing aerobatics will agree he is up there with the best.

Alistair.

I can see why somenzini is one of the best pilots in the world since he has the tittles to prove it but how would you determine the best jet pilot ? Who goes faster or lands closest to the center line on the runway ? Is there jet competitions ?

Well that jet Mr. Losemann's looks like it is so hard to fly that its not even funny! So no laughing here.

We won't flame you here either, but he's definitely amatuer! :D

Here's how the PRO's do it. (this might even be the guy that keeps getting us in AC6, ya just never know!);)

RE: Worlds Best RC Jet Pilot

but how would you determine the best jet pilot
It is all a matter of opinion. Winning one jet competition wouldn't make you the "Best". I don't know that there is a "Best RC Jet Pilot" But there are certainly some that fly at a skill level above the rest of us.

When I think about the Best, I think about the guys that can fly a jet that they have never flown before and make it look like they've been flying it for years. Not only could they be trusted to fly your latest pride and joy, but they would put on a heck of a show while doing it.

Most of the guys already mentioned in this thread are in that group.
