Great day, like me at breakfast the good weather eventually arrived (I only asked for no rain and light winds :-) I'll remember no fog next time.
Big Big thanks to Dick and crew who give up a day for our fun, I had a great day, plenty of sales, plenty of flying and no problems with any of my models, perfect day. Robbie test flew his MB339 P160SX, DSX-12, looked great, four more flights on Richard Johnson's Panther and four on the Inspiration in calm conditions-final dialling in done! Couple on the CARF Hawk, one on the fast Spark. Rob Westwater had his Kingcat out, Trevor Skedge his P60 powered Inspiration and lots more Dave W |

brilliant day as usual, and worth waiting for the fog to clear.
Great pics! Loved it! |
RE: Winter Jets at Abingdon
It's a shame Pim didn't fly his Gnat IC DF, I don't remember a CJ where he didn't fly it! The pictures make it look colder than it was, thinking I'm sure the fog had something to do with Dick's cooking!

RE: Winter Jets at Abingdon
What a great day.......Pity about the cold morning fog, but the afternoon was tops!!
Great to catch up with a few people rather than chatting through interweb. Some lovely models to be seen....Panther, 2 Ultra B's, Skygate Hawk, F-14, "Miss D" Hunter, to name a few. Was also good to see up to 5 models eagerly waiting at the side of the runway to get a spot in the clear winter sky. These events bring out the keenest flyers about....I think DW wore a groove in to the pilot's box after spending so much time there! Thanks again Dick and the gang!! |
RE: Winter Jets at Abingdon
Ian
It was only 12 flights! If I had taken the correct PCM 10x for my Bandit ARF it would have been more! Dave |
RE: Winter Jets at Abingdon
Inspiration clocked up a fair few flights . . . . very quiet! was so glad that i managed to get there for the last couple of hours, a not to be missed event!

RE: Winter Jets at Abingdon
For those interested in the stats, the ratio between 2.4 and 35 mHz users was exactly 10 : 1 . Poor old Trevor feels redundancy creeping in!
As ever, credit for the hard work goes to Christine Spreadbury, Sue Garrett, Trevor Cook, Selwyn Read, Phil Male, Andy Aldridge, Keith Whiddett, Rog Kilbey, Ian Bailey, Geoff White, Mark Littlewood, Stevie Rawlings, the Anima, Paul Heckles and Alistair Powers...thanks to you all, plus, of course everybody who came and gave us a good day out! Merry Xmas to you all...I'll be in touch shortly with 2010's dates! Cheers, Dick |
