RE: Flycamone ECO and Futaba - PROBLEM SOLVED!

NOT working with the Futaba systems, as they have a different pulse length than
all other systems!
It's not the pulse length, length determines the servo position and that is fairly standard between all brands which is why all brands servos work with all brands radio. It is the modern Futaba pulse voltage, as I told you way back in post #4 in this thread, and flycam has confirmed! Futaba has gone so low that many servos and devices see the signal as permanently low instead of low high low high.

Jeg vet ikke om det svaret var til meg - men så lenge de som produserer enheten sier den ikke funker på Futaba så er det godt nok for meg, da hjelper det lite å følge med på utviklingen...

The technician from Flycamone said "pulse length" and even quoted it in milliseconds - but I don't have enough expertise to enter into that
discussion, I just got my answer from Flycamone and that's fine by me. They even said that there was a special converter (I guess
it's a signal booster if HarryC is right), but I will simply wait for the new version to come out.

You would have thought they would have tested the cam with Futaba before releasing it. Poor, poor practice and QA testing. Would make me wonder what other gremlins are waiting to be uncovered.

Perhaps it is Futaba's fault, for continually trying to make their radios incompatible with everyone else so that you are locked into buying their servos, their gyros etc?

Futaba did not purposely make their RX's operate at lower than 3.3V - that's the natural progression of IC technology and everyone will be heading in that direction eventually. They could have added buffers to bring the signal levels back up so that they could operate other servos and associated equipment, but that would have increased the size, power consumption and cost of their RX's. They chose not to do that, and low and behold, most everyone else modified their stuff to be compatible - probably because they know that this is the way things are going...

So is it the voltage or the timing? I am lost? (I got one of these cameras too but I have not had the time to hook it up)

Good luck Tor!

Thanks, Matt!! Not sure really, the German technician wasn't really clear on that, but as long as the new ones work....:D
