mibo a 10 help and advice
I am thinking of purchasing a mibo a10,and would appreciate any advice and tips on it.I am interested in feedback on what its like to live with it,ie transporting, storing, the amount of time it takes to get it ready to fly etc.I have made enquiries about the possibility of having the fuselage made in two sections to help with transport, and this is possible, what do you a10 owners think.Unfortunately there is no one else around my area who owns one to ask or look at,and would appreciate any feedback before I comit to a v. expensive project that could end up biting me in the arse! I have 2 new Wren 160s already earmarked for this,so chuck in your 2 cents worth on the engine choice. The other factor is I am paraplegic so realise I may struggle a bit rigging it, but I`always fly with my son ,and a few mates so shouldnt have too much trouble coercing them into lending a hand!
I already own a comp arf eurosport and boomerang xl so struggle anyway,so figure this cant be any worse can it? Thanks in advance ,best regards Jon . |

Hi Jon, the MIBO A-10 is a 2 person assembly regardless of your physical condition but very straight forward, just slide the wings on the wing tube, insert 2 bolts on the top surface of the wing, insert 2 bolts to attach the tail feathers, assuming you removed them for transport, air/fuel up and enjoy the most user friendly, as well as forgiving, jet you have ever flown. Your pair of Wren 160s is perfect for the MIBO A-10 and one will definitely bring it home just ask Ron Ballard the US Wren Distributor ([email protected]). I witnessed, as his caller, a flame out on t/o, climb out, several 360s and the like, and landing without any damage.

Do it and keep us posted, Roger
|
RE: mibo a 10 help and advice
Does one need a trailer to transport it? I wonder if it would fit in a large SUV?

RE: mibo a 10 help and advice
I transport mine in a trailer, tail on all of the time. I can slide it out and still support the nose on the trailer floor, and place a support under the tail. This allows me to put each wing on and then test and drop the gear. Then I can roll it along. I almost always have some help but I am not to dependent on others.
It is not too much more than putting a Carden together at the field. I think having the fuse in two parts would be a pain to have to plug everything together and then bolt it etc...not to mention the weight increase that would be necessary. The plane is a piece of cake after the assembly. Good luck, Dave |

Sorry - that's your lot! Just took a quick snap when at JetPower as I thought it would serve to provide ideas for one if I went down the A10 route.... Rgds, Mark |

RE: mibo a 10 help and advice
Hi guys ,can anyone with an a mibo give me a measurement across the rear engine pods, widthways, also the tailplane with verticals?Just trying to figure out if it will fit in my car!
Regards Jon Sykes |
RE: mibo a 10 help and advice
Jon the nacelles are 32" wide...the verticals are 44" wide.

RE: mibo a 10 help and advice
Thanks Roger for the measurements, would like to know what servos and radio most people are using,so I can get an idea of the cost for a typical install.I was thinking along the lines of power box royal ,with 2 12 channel recievers, but not sure on servos. Regards Jon Sykes

RE: mibo a 10 help and advice
Jon we are using JR 8611s all around except for smaller JR servos in the rudders. R1221 RX with the redundant battery connectors was our choice without a power box but, as I recall, 3 match boxes.

Edgard
My dad transports his in a SUV (mercedes ML). He made the nacelles easy to remove with quick disconnects for the turbines. It is so tight he has to remove the gun barrel for the tail gate to close.... here are some pictures Jack G |

Cheers Anurag Those of you who are using trailers please add a third support under the nose! (Just ask me how I know.) :( It seems that the bouncing in a light trailer stresses the fuse more than when hauled in a SUV. |
