Reversed Y-Harness

Any comments or input of using a reversing y-harness on 2.4 ???? It's the only solution to my problem that I can think of other than a Matchbox... All thoughts would be appreciated !!!!

spend the money on a matchbox or reversed servo. The reversed Y's I have had experience with are junk.

Agreed...don't use a reversing Y-harness on a jet. Just mix it in your tx.

Great meeting you in Mississippi, Danno

I don't think that 2.4 affects the servo signal at all, and my own personal experience with rev-y's has been positive, fwiw.

The only problem Dan has with changing out the servo is that the person (not Dan) who installed the servo epoxied them in and they are not coming out without part of the stab attached. :-(

Has anyone had any experience with Smart-Flys equallizer II.

RUN AWAY from the reversing Y harness- Use a matchbox, buy a reversed servo get a rec with more channels-ANYTHING but a reversed harness. Cost me an airplane once. Scotty

Thanks guys !!!!! I think my gut feeling was right, but I just wanted to get some reassuring info pro or con... I don't think that using a amplified Y on elevators on a Turbine aircraft is a smart move... Machbox time !!!!!!

Thanks Guys, !!!!

Have to agree with not using the y-harness. I prefer the Smart-Fly Equalizer but a Matchbox would be fine as well.

Remember Hitec digital servos can be reveresed. I use a Y lead on my elevator and reversed the Hitec servo. So if you ahve Hitec's no problem!!!!

I'm useing Jr 2721's.. I have a reversed 2721, but the problem is that my buddy that built the airplane expoxied the servo's in a foam core stab.... I will have to butcher it up pretty good to get it out. I told him I have the utmost confidence about JR servo's and odds are it would never need to come out, but I didn't expect him to mop the hole w/ epoxy and jam the servo's in it !!!![sm=spinnyeyes.gif] Their metal gear good servo's, I hope they last !!!![sm=tongue_smile.gif] I'll give ya one guess what airplane/designer I'm talking about !!!!!........ If you guessed Isobar/Eddie Weeks, It all makes sense now doesn't it !!!!:D

Danno

P.S... Eddie didn't build this airplane I'm talking about !!!!

I've used the one from electro dynamics with no problems.

I have used the reverser from Electrodynamics for years as well with no issues on 72 Mhz and 2.4 with no issues as well.

http://electrodynam.com/rc/EDR-106/index.shtml

And before anyone asks, yes i am affiliated with ED but am only their show help. I have been flying their stuff years before I started helping them at the Toledo show.

Their stuff works just works, no excuses, no workarounds, no add-ons, no runarounds, no hassle, plus the best after-sales service in the industry, no if's, and's, or but's, as it should be.

Reverse Y's kill planes-eventually. Not worth it.

Ive been using a y harness on my boomer for years FM and 2.4 without any problems. The only problem is that you cannot sub trim with it (well you can but you can only adjust one servo and then the other one has to be adjusted using the clevis). At the time it was a good cheap way for me to save a channel on a RX.
