Picked up the bulkhead today, very nice thing :D:D. I will try to find out what it's place is in the F16. I think somwhere between the fuelpanels.
Anyone have a guess?

Peter, like all those who have posted I am astounded by the detail and incredible work - real craftsmanship.

Not sure if you have mentioned the turbine in the thread you are fitting but please if you require a good air trap, I will happily donate you a CAT from my range to suit, Olivier Nicolas has tested the large version on the BF Turbines B300F with perfect results so shout if you wish to take me up on the offer.

Looking forward to the results and use a good wax ;)

Thanx :)

Hi Marc, I did not mentioned any turbine but I will make it big enough that the B300F will fit. I have a dxf file from BF but perhaps you have a other one, sure I will be happy to receive the one you have. Every data is welcom. :)

This is my molding wax..........

Greetings,
Peter

Peter, I have a PDF attached below on the dimensions for the B300F - it would make a perfect turbine for this project (subject naturally to the final AUW ;))

Although wax is OK the application of PVA after a layer of wax really does give you the safety element - only issue is it can be difficult to apply over wax without beading, not always a totally gloss finish but 100% barrier to sticking resins and such like.

Let me know when you get closer to the final installation phase/planning and I will pop one over to you.

Hey Peter, nice frame you've gotten. it can be hung on the wall perfectly. BTW, this part of the intake must be the most difficult sheeting, i'll be alert with your progress man. Good work!
Grts,
Peter.

RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B

Hi Pablo, yes this part was a bit more tricky. Made a few pieces to get a good fit, you don't need to heat it.
Your'e sheeting looks also very good.

Have now separated the intakelip from the body so it can become a separate mold.

The intakelip is now finished and ready for sheeting, not much but still important.

Thanks Mick.

A little bit futher with the intake. After several layers of epoxi primer and sanding and filling it looks nice now. When all of the alu is on it I will put clear coat on the white parts and then is this part ready.

Peter, I am blow away and speech less. You are a world class builder. I have not seen anything like this except for Herald Huff Su27.Your project is in a class of it own. Thanks for sharing and giving us some incite what it takes to build a world class model....I'm just blow away. I wish the rest of the Jet Master builders would share what they know. Even if I knew how I don't think I have the hands or eyes to do that kind of work. Very very inspiring.

:D:D Thank you very much, I do my best to make it realistic. This inspires me again :).

This is the last progress from today. The small part above the intake is made out of two pieces, on top of it sits Pacer bond. I simulated it with special arcraft aluminium wich has a sticky side.

Picture of the real one, the black painted area is Pacer bond and it has little dots in it. I will make this also in the alu.

Some strange panels, I don't fill the gaps they show in the model where to make openings. Under it sits the hook mechanism.

That is the intention Pablo, you are going fast by the way.

Have made the bathtub as the mechanics call it. A lot of rivets :D.

Looking great peter. Do you plan to "3D" the bath-tub, or just mold is as seen, and then cut it out later?

Peter Coers 11-08-2011 01:47 PM

RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B

Hi Thomas, there is no option for 3D because there are rivets in the tub. I have a picture which shows this, it won't release so it has to be cut out later.
By the way you are going great with the F14, what a beast :D.

Greetings,
Peter

RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B

Slowly ??;) I am trying to catch up but there is to much detail :D.

The tub is now ready.
