Default Supermaxx tranny kit?

Well i just installed a Rix Gears FOC and it didnt even last a full tank of gas with my 24.7. So i guess this means i have to go with the supermaxx tranny kit, but i was wondering which one to go with the 8mm or the 10mm? Thanks

I would say go for the 10mm. The bigger the better when it comes to big block engines.....

Yup the rix is just a stock replacement.

As for the ue trannies, the 8mm was made for the smaller engines, and the 10mm was designed for the big horse power big blocks, however, the 8mm can hold up to the bigblocks just as well, its just got a smaller tooth face then the 10mm, but the gears are the same material, and the shafts they are on are the same as the 10mm.

only get that if you have 1/8 diffs. if you go with the 10mm you will have to mod the case in order for it to fit. but that one looks freakin awesome. i would and will get that when i go big block.

the new one is higher geared for the 1/8 diffs. i would get the supermaxx diffs. they are not 350. they are 333 for the 8 spiders, 275 for the 6 and 265 for the 4 at stormer. these are probably the cheapest you can get and definitly the best.

The 10mm comes with its own modded case so it will work just fine, you wont have to mod anything just put it together with your 2 speed gears!!
Anyways, you wont need anything to complete the tranny, the only other tranny options you have are the aluminum 2 speed gears by OTB and the alloy top shaft, which the 2 speed gears are only made by 1 company OTB, and the topshafts can be bought from either UE or RRP, also you can get the 10mm or 8mm tranny kit at www.stormerhobies.com or www.hobbyshopnj.com

BTW if you were to go for the new UE tranny kit, you would not have to set up with 1/8th diffs, alls you would have to do is drop a tooth or 3 on the clutch bell to make up for the gear ratio, I run a 13 tooth bell on my truck, so the tranny kit might be perfact for me instead of going to a bigger bell, cause those of us out there running a 1/8th setup on our maxx know how much easier it is to find a 13 or 14 tooth bell instead of a 15-18. ANyways unless I missed something, I dont think you need to mod a tranny case for this new FOC to fit in it, it doesnt look any wider then an 8mm tranny gear.

i think that it is thinner than 8mm. you would not have to but it is recommened because it is designed for the 7.5 diffs.

My point exactly, no mods to the tranny case at all, and its just a gear ratio change, so thats easly minipulated by changing the clutch bell. The only thing to be worried about is weather you are running stock sliders which you cant with this tranny kit. Anyways I think I will buy one of these and park the 10mm, but that will be some time cause Ive got another project to work on!!

Alright so if iam understanding this i should go with the new UE tranny kit instead of the 10mm and just get about a 13t clutch bell, can i do that with a stock clutch size (not a 1/8th style clutch) i am using the flywheel and clutch from the older tmaxx (.15 engine).

Actualy if your running the stock bell(20 tooth) a 16,17 or 18 would work very well!! And no a stock bell is not the same pitch as a 1/8th, I would sugjest running a 16-18 tooth bell with your setup.
