are there any simple modifications to add either low or top end to your truck by cutting the exhaust? like if you cut a bit of the stinger off, or something. i know you can cut the manifold or leave a gap betwwen manifold and pipe to increase top or bottom end. has anyone done this? particularly ona stock 2.5 pipe?

hey, when i still had my stock pipe on my pro .15 i melted the baffle inside the pipe so i cut a circle out of teh bottom of a pop can(stronger) cut it a little smaller than the pipe opening and used that as a baffle, i drilled holes in it, there wernt as many so there was more back pressure and seemed to have more power.
i dont think the 2.5 pipe is a 2 peice pipe tho. just letting you know there are ideas out there
have fun

push the pipe onto the manifold, or cut the manifold down, for better top end power, and slide it off for better torque. i tune my monster pirate motor like this in unison with the carb. works good.

The only way to alter performance in a positive way is to reduce or increase the length and width of the exhaust.
Adding more holes.. despite what you think, will actually hurt performance by letting too much fresh mixture pass right through.. among other things.
You can change the length of the manifold, or get a CVEC pipe, which is adjustable.
Or.. just get a pipe that has a prove track record!

actually get a 1/8 inch drill bit or maybe a 1/4 (you'll know what size you need if you do it) and drill out the stinger increasing the diameter. i have heard this works well.
