hello all i was wondering if it would be cheaper money wise to build a t-maxx from scratch, like buy all the parts that i like , and upgrade to the ones i want wile building it and save some money rather than buying a new Maxx for $425 and spend $800 in hop-ups.what do you think , would it be cheaper to do it this way?

i would look on e-bay, they have new maxx's hopped-up maxx's and if you want a hopped up maxx without buying a maxx first look on there, you can get one thats hopped up as much as you can pretty much get for around 500 bucks

Well most of my experience with hopped up maxx's on ebay have been that most of these idiots are looking to get every stinking last penny out of what they put into them. You'll save yourself alot of headache by just buying a used maxx off of ebay and hop it up from there. Alot of the used ones come with some aluminum hop ups and are an all around better deal.

All good points. BUT beware of buying some of these used Maxx's, if they run them anywhere close to the way I run mine you might be getting a bad deal
. I'd really research any purchase of a used Maxx on ebay, ask lots of questions etc......

If you look on Ebay you can find the New parts you need with out buying the whole truck! Get a trans and some diffs and then work your way up from there! In the long run you will get what you want and not have a bunch of stock parts just sitting around! I did it the hard way twice and have enough stock parts - the trans and diffs to build another truck!
