Default Loss of control for throttle and steering...Help!

I purchased a himoto Mega P MXT-2S upgrade monster truck for my kids for Christmas. We were breaking in the engine and on our 3rd tank when it started to act up. The throttle stuck and would only turn in one direction causing revving of the engine and loss of control. I noticed the antenna wire had a slit in in. It actually cut in two and we soldered it but the results were the same. Do you think this is causing the problem and should we purchase a new wire?

Once those wires get cut there basically dead, but if your right next to the truck then it should still work. It sounds like the receiver batteries are dead in the car, and or the remote. Its a good idea for a first car to get a fail-safe, a fail-safe in the event of loss radio signal or low battery will apply the brakes and not allow the car to take off and cause a run away.

This will be the best money you will spend on that car, as it will protect it from taking off at wot (Wide open throttle) into someone, car, woods, etx...

Yeah- its weird. If I turn in the steering wheel it makes the gas go full throttle.... I'll check the receiver batteries...

If you turn the steering wheel the other way do the wheels lock up (break on)? Sounds to like the steering & throttle/break are reversed! Try switching them!

When I turn the steering to the left, no problem. When I turn to the right it goes a little and the throttle goes full board and it gets stuck...the throttle and steering then looks like its having a seizure for about 15 seconds before going back into a normal position...

Next problem worked great this morning until the pull string came out...is that a fairly easy fix? Assuming I need to take the engine apart?

Can you get to the four screws that mount the pull start to the engine? If so no need to pull off and disassimble engine! It can be a real pain! Looks like a Losi spin start would fit that engine just not sure witch one? Could you access it to spin start with a drill? Another option is a starter box! I personaly like the the drill start, great excusse to go get a good 18v rechargable drill
