Savage 21 air in fuel line
Anyone having trouble keeping air bubbles out of the fuel line on the Savage 21? We (my son 14) and I bought a Savage about two months ago. I have slowly figured out how to tune and keep it running. Kind of like a chain saw or weed eater engine. Between me and our local RC club we have overcome! I finally ordered a new fuel tank from HPI which took two weeks. But still no satisfaction. After about half a tank we hit a jump and the engine quits. As soon as we top the tank off and purge the line we can go again. Any suggestions? Caleb

for you guys with the header tank, are any of you running the rotostart with it, because all the pictures i have seen seem to be blocking where you put the shaft for the starter.

Now there's one I didn't think of before ordering the dual-tank mod stuff as well as a rotostart.

RE: Savage 21 air in fuel line
the problem your'e having "starting when hot" was a big head ache for me too. i say was because now i'm running the wasp and with the composite carb this thing will start no matter what temp the engine is. the stock bb21 is a good motor save one thing ,the alum. carb. when it gets hot the fuel will "run away" from it. mine would not start untill the engine cooled down to 150 or below. once i had it tuned it rarely died but when it did it was time to sit back and have a coke and a smile and wait. i think that if you're with the out put of the bb21 and not planning to upgrade the motor you should look into a composite carb. i haven't done any research on this but i don't think that they can be that expensive and the "hot starting" problem should be fixed.
