Dont give up on them yet. I promise you they do care. I have worked with them on a few issues on my truck, and they have been more than helpful. Have you called them? that is the fastest way to get a responce.

I have a different question regarding the stock Mirage III controller. So far I have not had any problems and when I ordered the MT2 I received a free Venom failsafe with the truck, which I think was great since I have read about a lot of run away trucks here.

What I am wondering about is a rechargeable battery conversion kit. Would the Hobbico or Duratrax Ni-CAD battery conversion kit work on the Stock Mirage III that came with the truck or is there another one that is better? I looked through all the manuals, on CEN's website and at a number of posts but couldn't find the answer. Everything just says 12 AA batteries. I know both these kits would work with the Futaba if I should need to replace the Mirage in the future (hoping I don't need to, but may anyway).

Tony, You said the wheel came off the base. is there something in the center of the wheel? If so you probably broke the axle. If not, then the nut may have come off. Tell me more about it. And when you are running your truck at full throttle, do you hear what sounds like a hicup from the truck then it goes faster? If so, you are shifting. If not, you can unscrew the set screw on the second gear. that set screw adjusts when you shift by decreasing or increasing the pressure on the spring in the shift mechanism. If you need more help with it, let me know.

yes easy fix and cheap also.order a new universal swing shaft. also get a bag of GX 47( I think) which is the pin that goes through the shaft. do you need a wheel nut too?GX66

look here for anything you may need.

BTW your truck has universal shafts in the front and plain dog bones in the rear. you can upgrade the rear and get the shafts for a 4 corners. Or just use GX15 which goes with the dog bone.
