I have the Traxxas big bore shocks on my Sportmaxx and have yet experienced any problems with them.

Yep, I'd have to agree that the Integy's are very nice shocks. Super smooth action.[8D] I put 40wt all around on mine and use two each of the Integy springs and Trinity blue springs front and back. That works perfect for the hard, high jumping bashing that I do.
Not to mention they are just too damn sweet looking. Got mine at my lhs for $99.

I dunno, I am zeroing on on these shocks made & sold by Team Blue Star:

http://www.teambluestar.com/maxxshocks.htm

The bodies seem VERY precise & "clean", the shafts look thicker than others I've seen, and the springs seem great, too (and a cool color). They ALSO make them with an anodized silver finish, but you only see them on their ebay auctions.

They ALWAYS have tons of these shocks (and other parts) for sale on ebay!!! They seem to be going for about $70 there, which is a bit better than their retail/website price.

check out proline's new shocks for monster shocks. there r 4 regular shocks and the other 4 shocks are called a by-pass shock
check out prolines webisite, it's either proline.com or prolineracing.com i think its the racing one, but everyone with a tmaxx or other monster truck should check them out

Make that "EVERYONE WITH $200 TO SPEND ON SHOCKS FOR THEIR TOY TRUCK"

Yeah, they now have the pricing up on their website. Don't get me wrong, though. That's not THAT outrageous, especially when compared to the other $200-ish shocks out there (UE, I think one other) that are downright primitive when compared to Proline's new setup.

I'm betting they will prove to be THE shock to get for those who want the best at any cost.

BTW, I JUST won @ ebay a set of the Silver Team Blue Star shocks that I mention above I got one of the better prices I've seen of late, $67.50 (plus $9 shipping). BUT....I should point out that TBS is now offering FREE shipping on all orders placed directly via their website thru the end of the year! I still saved a bit, but if you like their stuff, check 'em out.

I have heard the Integy's are great. Personally, I have two trucks setup with the Traxxas big bores and they are awesome. One year running and NO problems....even when running heavy oils like 80wt.

that price is crazy
eventually others will make it and it wont cost as much
proline is just charging sooo much because its a new design
it uses only 60?? metal, not the best
the best is 7075 metal
but the price is still ridiculous

If you're not looking to spend $100 some dollars for T-Maxx alum shocks, Teambluestar often goes for a decent pirce on a set of 8. And also HPI Nitro MT rear shocks fits, they're not the best aluminum but definately better than the plastic stock shocks and they can go $15-18 a pair which totals between $60-70 for a set of 8.

I use a threaded capless AL shock with progressive springs and haven't had any problem and they where a good price as well.

I got a set of the associated shocks for the tmaxx for about 30.00 (common on ebay) and some aluminum shock caps running stock springs on the outer 4 shocks and trinity stiff springs on the inside...gives perfect race height and progressive feel for big jumps..
all in all cost me about 55.00 to set it up and it's better than any other setup i've run so far.

First, the proline shocks won't be that expensive, 200 is retail. We have them for $150 per set, so street prices should be 150 - 170 for the most part.

Second, if you are building a race truck, go with 4 shocks, and use 1/8 scale buggy shocks. You save weight, and there are no t-maxx shocks out there that can match the durability of an 1/8 scale shock. Nothing against Integy or GPM, but those are more eye candy than functional. If the suspension is setup correctly, you can actually get away with 4 front buggy shocks and save more weight. Just depends on how big the jumps are at your track.
