Also can i put in a bigger motor in place of the traxxas trx pro .15 engine? kinda stupid to ask but i got this car 4 free and i have little knowlege about traxxas engines. well thanx for reading!

You could probably drop a bigger motor in there but I am not sure which ones will work; but that starter problem happened to me when i had my Maximum MT (POS) Pull starter went to hell, so i thought "hey i'll just use a drill" and it worked pretty dam good. Should work for you as long as you use a fairly powerful drill. (fully charged 12V cordless worked for mine but 14.4V cordless is better )

good luck
