To capture video from the digital camcorder to the PC you will need a combination of hardware and software. For hardware you need a PC with a Firewire card (also known as iLink by Sony, and IEEE 1394 by PC's). To this you will connect your camcorder via a Firewire cable. Some camcorders and laptops use a mini-firewire cable. Thats all you need for hardware - other than a huge hard drive to hold all the video.
For software, I use Adobe Premiere to capture and edit the video. This is pretty expensive software, so you might want to look into other products at your local software store. Windows XP also includes Windows Movie Maker. Though I don't know how well this works for capturing or editing.
To post your videos, or pictures you will need a webservice. You can't do this from your own pc. You upload to the webservice and then link your pictures and videos from there. Many ISP's offer some sort of webspace for posting pictures, but may not allow you to link directly to them or post pictures directly to another web site. My pictures and videos are posted via my webservice where I keep my domain: [link=http://www.scubadivervideo.com]www.scubadivervideo.com[/link]

I currently have the JVC recorder, I need to buy a Firewire connector for it. ( any clues on where to get it, I was told that I can get it only through JVC) My PC is in dire need of a new MB, The new one will support Firewire. (I ordered the wrong one last time [&o]) I have Adobe Premiere thanks to Kazaa [>:], So it looks like all I need to find is the correct cable. The MB will be replaced soon (I would have had it already but I bought a mammoth
)

If JVC uses either a mini-firewire or standard firewire you can get them at many consumer electronics stores. If it is non-standard, then only JVC will have it.
