The maxx is a great truck, there are loads of hop ups. I dont even have to begin listing companies, because they are everywhere. Just look at some of the custom rides on this site. Some of the maxx trucks on here are really wicked. They are also really EXPENSIVE. It wouldnt be soo bad, but in the stock maxx shocks are horrible, the half shafts are a joke, and the tranny needs upgrades to handle more power. Right there, you are looking at a few hundred in hop ups to be where most of the OTHER RTR trucks are right now. I dont want to discourage you from buying a maxx, they are awesome. Just understand, that they are NOT equal to the other trucks on todays market, and take a little cash to catch up. However, if you have the money, you will soon realize the light weight maxx trucks, even with aluminum parts, can seriously kick butt on a track, or out bashing. The only thing holding me back from starting another maxx project is the possibility of a new Traxxas truck, and the fact that i KNOW i'll be buying the new Losi truck. Ok, now about the EK4...Its an awesome truck. Its a truggy, we have to admit that. Although we also have to realize that its the same diff gears, and chassis used in 8th scale buggies that make them soo durable. So jumping, bashing, and racing are all fine qualities of this truck. The EK4 does not have the same strong aftermarket support as a maxx (nothing does). However, you can buy several goodies to dress it up, including a 2 speed setup. This truck was done up real nice in one of the more recent mags, with some Dominator wheels and tires, and alot of aluminum hop ups. Check with Triple H racing, and MSJ for hop ups for that monster of a truck. Really, you cant go wrong with either. To be honest, both motors are a little more difficult, so its gonna depend on what you want out of the truck. I think i would have to choose the EK4, just because its unique, and will always be unique. If they would have released the limited 90, i would be buying one. So, thats my honest opinion on it. By the way, i work on the 2.5 all the time, my son has one. I also had the opportunity to help a friend break a motor in on the EK4 last year too. So i have experiece with both.

IMHO, it all depends what you want to do with the truck? If you want something beefy go with the Tiger. If you want something nimble and quick go with the T-Max. The Tiger has way more torque than the TM. Botom line--------> Go with your gut..........[:@]
