Yay. Can't WAIT to get through break-in. I got a tool set, a glow igniter, gas, and a gas bottle. Anything else I'll definitely need? (I forgot air filter oil...do I need to oil the filter before the 1st run?)

Use motor oil for your air filter, it should work fine. Nice truck.

That's one sweet truck dude! I don't know if this is your first nitro rig or not? Do you have a temp gun? You should invest in one if you don't. Have fun!..............

Yeah, first nitro R/C...actually... first "real" R/C. Last one I had was from Toys R Us about 10 years ago, haha.

SO, tomorrow it's back to the hobby shop for air filter oil and a temp gun.

Can I use automotive motor oil? Is that what you meant, CrashKid?

Excellent choice...And a VERY good choice for a first nitro. The TT motor tunes real easy, and runs awesome. The truck is super easy to work on, and a blast to drive. You will have alot of fun.

Just kidding. Nice truck. I was thinking of getting one too but I found out that is the same truck as the Thunder Tiger Something.

Good choice though with all the hopups already included compared to a Savage or T-maxx.

Nice truck, good choice, tell us how it goes. Don't use automotive oil for air filter oil. Air filter oil is thicker and stickier, it's designed to "hold on" to dirt and keep it from going through the filter. Automotive oil is thin and slick, won't grab as much dirt, and can get sucked into your engine. Do the right thing, it's not that expensive.

P.S. I'd like to see that race

I have a Savage SS and I must admit that the Monster GT is still a very impressive truck. In fact I just talked my buddy into buying one. He is still breaking it in but we plan to have a little drag race next week.

It's stock now, but I have a GIAC IBE tri-program (stock, X, XR) chip on order. Sock, I've heard of a few guys hitting 13.9, but normally it's around 14.1. With the chip, it'll go from 225 horsepower to 265-270 on X mode, but on XR mode (and 100 octane, which I can get locally), I've seen dynos of them putting out 300 horsepower. Hopefully in X-Race mode, I'll be able to hit very low 13's, maybe even a 12.9. Chips do some crazy sh*t for the 1.8 Turbo engine.

Sounds awesome charlie. Im hop'n up my 04 WRX this spring. My goal for this WRX is a flat 12 in the 1/4. This spring i've already got my parts list to get me to 300 horse. Im gonna be building my car with advice from ESX.

I heard good things about Vishnu Racing. $2500 gets you into the low 12's I think.
