There is no "best". They all accel in their own areas. This question has been asked a million times. Use the search key for the trucks you are interested in and you'll find your answers.

RE: Help im new!
i think a truck for that would be like a savage 25. its strong, and i can vouch for that. lol. it takes beatings. it can drive on trails and jumps with out any problems and there are tons of mods for it. it goes about 41 to 42 mph, but its a trade off for durability for speed. the t-maxx is one pound lighter and it has a top speed of like 45 to 46 mph. the t-maxx is faster than the savage because it has less weight, therefore weaker parts so it breaks more often. if you want jumping i would go with the savage. if you want speed i would go with the t-maxx. you can make the t-maxx a strong truck but you have to buy alot of aluminum parts and them it would weight it down more and probably slower its speed and accel. if you want both but alittle lower speed go with the savage. you can always upgrade for more speed. the savage has a frame called tvp's which are 2 plates going up and down and the t-maxx has a frame thats on the bottom of the truck i think. the savage also has a 3-shoe clutch which adds to the accel. the t-maxx has a 2-shoe clutch on it. both trucks are good trucks but its just what you want. there are also alot of other trucks out there that are good trucks, i just dont really know more about them.

the savage 25 averages for about 399 depending on where you get it from i have seen it range from 399 being the lowest and 450 being the most exspensive. you will prolly see the 399 more often.

Take a look at the Cen Fun Factor MT2, it meets all your requirements except the mods. But the MT2 only needs mods to make it look different. If you want more info on the MT2 go to www.cenracing.com or let me know.

RE: Help im new!
geez... i want to be in the US, just so that i can get in on that free shipping deal... i have to pay a minimum of 60 bucks just to get it over here... oh... and my LHS sucks, so i have to get everything ordered... thats a minimimum of 16 bucks, meaning i have to buy in bulk to get full advantage, meaning i have to spend a lot each purchase... oh... and answering the question... i think the savage is the most qualified... if you get a savage and dont abuse it too much, you shouldn't have to be putting too much into repairs... a t-maxx on the other hand, is somthing like $380... but you have to factor in at least another $75 for the aluminum stuff... also consider that depending on what you do with it, you will be repairing the t-maxx more than you are running it (ok... thats a slight exhaggeration)...

tmaxxkilla, will you please do all of us a favor and leave this site? Your constant belittling of other members is not only annoying but just rude. There is no call for it whatsoever and it is already old. You have only been a member two days an dyou are driving us crazy.
As for the best truck sn0wrider, please use the search feature, this stopped getting discussed in depth about 2 years ago after the first 3000 posts about it were made, now it just stirs up useless posts like several that are in here. As for what choice, for the last time, do not take advice from people on the net, most of them are insecure kids whos parents have spoiled them excessivly. There is no best truck. Go check out you LHS and see what he has on the shelves. Drive a few, see what you can get parts for. Then buy that one. Allof them are made up of strengths and weaknesses. None of them are the best, the least of which would be the Savage and T maxx. If money is no object, go buy a Kanai buggy and perform a truggy conversion. That would probably be about the best you are going to get.

RE: Help im new!
tmakkilla is right, I had alot of problems with my Tmaxx, mine was a lemon. But that doesn't mean that all Tmaxx's are lemons. You have a chance of getting a lemon with any purchase you make; automobiles, coffemakers, stereos, R/C cars, etc.
I have never been stuck with my truck. I like to modify and customize things, whether it's R/C, my two 4-wheelers, my two snowmobiles, or my three pickups. So the Tmaxx was right up my alley with a plethera of aftermarket support.
I can afford to buy any R/C I want, my hobby budget is quite large. I went with the Tmaxx largely because my LHS is very dedicated to it.
I've considered buying a Savage in the past, it seems to be a very durable truck, but the general attitude of many (not all, just many) Savage owners appears very biased, pushy, and overly pridefull. Those attitudes alone have kept me from purchasing one.
I have a Losi LST on preorder from my LHS, to me it appears to be one of the most innovative MT's yet. You may want to hold out on your purchase until it is available, it'll definatly be a contender if not the King of MTs.
the best truck is the savage hpi you have to excuse jefx he gets to involved with the question he bought the tmax and now hes stuck with it.i guess he made a bad choice he couldent afford to spend and buy a good truck
