Default Biggest Truck

Hi Guys,
I've got a few Mini-z's and a Duratrax Evader but I want to get into the monster truck hobby, and am wondering what the biggest truck and engine combo (RTR) is out there, and what's good and bad about it. Also, are there any rumors about any new Monster trucks that are coming out? I guess I'll wind up with the T-Max, but I'd like something bigger.....not for competition, just for messing around with.
Thanks,
N2Raptor

If you are willing to wait 3-4 months, you will be able to choose the Cen Genesis or Losi LST. Do a search on both and you will find a lot of information on them.

I think the xtm mammoth is the longest truck (23.4 inches) and the biggest truck i think is the xtm x-factor. Its very tall and its mad efor rock crawling. The savage is not entirely HUGE but bigger than a maxx and a fun truck. Also durable

dont go by size go by price adn part availablment(forgive my spelling)like a t-maxx or savage.mamoths are HUGE but there arent any parts for them.if you want a low budget bnasher get a savage or MGT and if you want a cooler truck that will keep your wallet empty for as long as you own it,get a T/S maxx.

Check out the 1/6 scale FG Monster truck which will be released next month. Two months after its release, the 4WD option and RTR option should be available. If you want to see photos, use the search button. There should be threads on both this forum and the large scale form.

Edit: Here is one link.

Ok guys, you're giving me lots of good info, and....... MXRACER45, those shocks and shock towers of yours look great. It's a shame to get that chassis dirty! Nice job!
That 1/6 scale FG truck sounds like a winner. I'll check it out. Any idea what that'll cost and what engine and radio come with it? I've been saving for a new "toy" and

Just for shots and grins, what would you guys want most if you were able to design your own Monster truck?

To make it so simple so you don't have to view the thread or visit the importer's website--it doesn't come with a radio, it doesn't come with electronics, the gas/oil mix engine is a Zenoah G230RC which means there are no glow plugs and it doesn't run on nitro. This also means it has more horsepower than the 1:8 and 1:10 scales most everyone tends to argue about on this forum. The cost is around $1K and there are several available options, like front and rear hydraulic disc brakes. Sure $1K may seem expensive, but consider the cost of nitro and glow plugs compared to gasoline/oil and a spark plug, not to mention the FG will run about 40 minutes straight and should not having any tuning issues. Besides, I know numerous people who have spent more than that on 1:8 and 1:10 scales.

Hey TNB, thanks for that. Wow, a 4 stroke on a monster truck, that is big bucks.....maybe they can offer an option of a 12 inch nylon line attached to the left rear wheel, so you can turn the truck on it's side and use it as a weed wacker in back yard. You know, as a dual use truck, it might be the way to get "the little woman" to authorize the purchase......hmmmm!
You said that you know some guys that easily spend over 1k for 1/8 stuff...........what do these guys usually buy that send the costs through the roof?
I guess that leads back to my other question about what you guys would want most if you could design your own big truck. I don't mean 24K gold gears.......I mean sensible kind of stuff, like maybe carbon fiber axles (?)......and why would you want that stuff built in.?
My group of RC guys aren't really into trucks, so I'm hoping you guys can smarten me up a bit. Naturally I checked out some of the magazines, but you guys aren't getting paid (or something) for an article, and are real users. So I really appreciate your posts.
MXracer45, sorry that truck's not yours!! It's really trick!! What engine is in it, and just for kicks, aside from the way it looks, (expensive), what's the best mod on it, and why?
My stomachs grumbling, so maybe I'll pick up a copy of XRC Cars on the way to Mickey D's.

LOL, hey thats a xtm mammoth. On sale at hobbypeople for 369.99$ The best upgrade on it are those carbon fiber shock towers. The stock 1's dont hold up to well. The mammoths stock suspension arms are fine. Alluminumis even bertter though.

Ever price out the Kysoho Kanai 3 or Mugen Seiki mbX5 1:8th scale buggy kits?
http://www.mugenseiki.com
http://www.kyosho.com

I own an mbX5 with the following set up (the Kanai 3 kit is more expensive):
JR XS3 crystal less-radio transmitter with RS300 synthesized receiver (my cheaper radio set-up)
Novarossi / Rex .21P5 3.5 cc nitro engine
Novarossi Top EFRA – 9886 pipe
Airtronics (two) 94358 servos (ERG-VB high torque dual ball bearing)
1000 Ni-MH 5-cell receiver pack
Fuel Filter
Ofna Starter Box with Chrome Top and Battery

Now toss in some hop-ups.... My T-Maxx has also been pretty much rebuilt. If you want, hit the "gallery" button under my post to check out a few of my toys.

Tigger, that's a nice stable of cars you run. I guess some experience in the field.
Your mbx5 setup is pretty "heavy". So what's the first mod that you usually do?

I see a g23orc on that 1/6 scale buggy, and that means an entirely new genre of hop-ups!! Imagine (if you know what I'm talking about, mostly go-ped parts etc) an ada series one pipe, an ada juice box, a sikk 27 cc big bore kit, fully ported, a reed, and thats just the start. I dont see why you wouldn't be able to make that thing hit at least 70 depending on gearing. (if you understanded all of that, then congratulations! What if someone modded it so you could put a pro60 in there! Pro60= 60 cc's)
