I just had my string on the pull start break on me so i took it off and was trying to re string it after tying a new knot. well now all i have is a big mess. is there an article out there some one could point me to, so that i might get this fixed or do i need just to buy a new one?

you didn't say what kind of truck you have. Go to the manufacturer's web site and look around. You will probably find something there.
