I was at canadian tire buying a pump because my air conditioner is inside and requires a tank to be emptied every few hours, so I put a pump and sensor in it to dump the water out the window when its starting to be full
So while I was there I got "Brake cleaner" spray to clean my savage, I think this is what was recommended on here.
Did I get the right stuff? can it damage the plastic on the savage?
Thanks

Brake cleaner can damage plastic parts.......and electrical parts! It'll aslo damage clear plastic to the point that it makes it opaque. Whatever you do, don't spray it around a Lexan body or strange things will happen to the body & the paint. If you just use it on metal, it's fine. I use CRC brake cleaner, (the green can), in my machining operations to remove machinist dye and the oily film that develops on some parts. It's an excellent cleaner, but, take precautions.

Some people use WD-40. In my opinion, Mean Green works well, then hose if off. WD leaves an oily film that attracts dirt & debris. Mr Clean in a spray bottle works well, too.
