Ok. The MT forum has pretty much died ever since all these sub forums were created and it is getting annoying. I have posted something 4 times which still remains un-answered!

I like the sub forums. It keeps me busy in the forums im most interested in. I occasionally still pop in to the other forums, but not nearly as often.

Having theses sub-forums makes it easier to find information. Your specific forum may not be doing so well, but all of the ones I am in most of the time are doing great.

The sub forums are nice, it lets people talk about vehicle specific issues that not every body cares about, on the other hand, general stuff should be discussed in the main forum so that it is more easily seen.

Yes & No.
I'm still new, so I've been reading posts on a lot of random things just because I don't know about it. There's a lot of pooled experience here, just because you don't own a Losi/HPI/Traxxas/Associated doesn't mean they won't be able to give good advice

It was too confusing as it was before the LST forum was created. The whole page was almost covered in LST topics, it makes sense to have them by themselves.
Now imagine the mess that would result from every LST, T-maxx, Savage, MGT and Revo all together in this one page. You might get your question answered but if you didn't it would disappear after less than a day. And I know many people consider a thread as good as dead after it's moved on to page two.
Face it, your individual post will get more exposure time, but maybe not by as many people. However those people who don't see it may not even have anything important to say about your question, especially if it's on a truck they don't have. Doesn't make much sense to look in the Savage forum to fix your max, does it? It's more than fine the way it is, it's great! If you want faster replies the only real solution is for more members or more active members. Each of which there's not much you or any poll will fix.

Sub forums are staying because they make it so much easier to find info on a particular truck. The huge added bonus is you don't have the Savage and Tmaxx guys flaming one another in every post.

I hate figuring out when to divide down to more subforums and when not to. It is the hardest part of running a successful forum. Most forums die because of doing them too soon or too late. Typically too soon. I really try to wait until a forum is buried in a page plus of posts every day and then if the broken out forums can yield a half page to full page a day then it is typically justified.
So far this seems to be going well and as the subforums continue to grow it will only get better for each one. The main monster truck forum allows everyone to discuss any MT. This you can use for generic questions, comparisons or even specific truck questions if you don't want to post in the specific subforum for some reason. Ultimately my gut tells me the timing is close to being right for this and things are going to get busier this year. Tell all your bashing and racing buddies about RCU because the more the merrier. The members make the site truly great since more people means more information shared. We have plenty of bandwidth and disk space to burn

^^ That's why I love this place!!
I'll be sure to tell all my buddies who aren't already here. After-all I stumbled across this place by accident so I'm sure others would be happy to "bump" into this place. It's the most informative source for RC car info on the net.

I think that you have made a mistake by creating the sub forum format. If I want to pursue a specific question about a certain brand of vehicle, all I need to do is follow a specific thread. As for this monster truck forum, the way it is now, you might as well shut it down. It was very interesting when it covered the broad range of vehicles in use. As it is now, it is more or less a waste of time. I will move RCU down the list of my boards to read.

Sorry, from my point of view there is nothing to get over. It's getting over all by itself. This forum has been split into five specific areas of interest, HPI, Team Associated, Traxxas, Losi and the other guys. I think that it is a loss to the MT group as a whole by not being exposed to the information and experiences of all the MT hobbyist. Good or bad, any idea, modification or experience can be adopted and used by someone else. I really miss the broad overall discussion of the total forum membership ! ! ! !

If there was no sub forums there would be so many posts on the general forum that your thread would be pushed back the the second page in a day and it would suck.
