hello everybody in the dirty end of the forums
Right then, I am really a touring car kinda guy but I have been thinking about getting a MT for a little while now, Basically there are more places to run one and the weather over here in the UK isn't alway ideal for on road action.
to the point of the post: I'm sure this has been asked about a million times but which Damn truck do i go out and buy? it seems like there are more than a few choices! i will only really be using it for bashing(the place i will go to mostly has lots of very steep banks, a few big jumps and lots and LOTS of mud). After careful studying of reviews and reading of these forums i have narrowed it down a bit, the nominations are in no particular order:
1) Traxxas Revo (£449 or $817)
2) XTM Mammoth rtr (£329 or $599)
3) HPI Savage 21 rtr (£375 or $682)
as you can see the revo is quite a bit more expensive than the other two and value for money is very important to me, so based on the information i have provided what are your opinions? i think i have a favorite in my mind but id like to back that up a little with some knowledgeable opinions before i take the plunge
Thanks for all your input in advance

The Mamoth is probably the best choice on your list IMO.

I paid $446.39 including shipping to the UK for my Revo from Tower Hobbies, they only charged me $6.40 airmail shipping to the UK (their computer system messed up and that is all they charged me
). That's only £248
I've had my Revo since 23rd July and love it.
There are a number of places online that will ship to the UK try one of the following,
http://www.towerhobbies.com/index.html
http://www.stormerhobbies.com/
http://www.rcboyz.com/ (Savage SS 25 Kit £195 )
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=420_328
http://shopping.rcmodel.com.hk/
http://www.rcxshop.com/default.php?manufacturers_id=7
Or try Ebay, there are a number of reputable sellers who will ship to the UK. Remember to ask first what the shipping cost will be!! Here are a couple I can vouch for.
http://stores.ebay.com/Hobbie-Guy-RC...isplayZ1QQtZkm (Savage 25 RTR £229 plus shipping!)
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...915220536&rd=1 (Savage SS 25 Kit £176 )
Remember though when buying from the USA you will probably have to pay import duty especially from places like Tower and Stormer, but from ebay sellers they may put down a low declared value on the package and you will get away without paying. Buying from Hong Kong you will probably get away without having to pay import duty.
I bought a Hyper 7 Pro PCR (UK price over £450 ) from Dinball for £191 and did not pay any duty
). That's only £248

If is being delivered by Royal Mail or Parcel Force they will simply collect the charges when they deliver. If it is someone like DHL, UPS etc sometimes they deliver then you get a letter about the charges at a later date.
R/C equipment usually doesn't attract a duty charge but you would get done for the VAT at 17.5% plus usually a 'clearance fee' for the courier. Any charges are for the total of the goods INCLUDING the shipping cost!

If you have done your research then you know what each truck is good for!!!!!!! I have had all three and loved all of them. So instead of telling you only good things about each one,i will tell you the drawbacks from each truck. Any guy on this forum will tell you get this because its the best truck!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Mammoth is the cheapest truck here and the fastest. Although XTM has a ton of upgrades other companies have not jumped on the band wagon so upgrading is slightly limited. The radio sucks!!!!Its wheelbase is so long most bodies wont fit it properly. Stock steering sucks. Its probably your best buy!!!!!!
THE SAVAGE IS TOO DAMN HEAVY!!!!!!!! it sucks to work on!!!!!!!Its been out for a while all the bugs have been worked out!!! Great third party support. You have to love it and you cant make a mistake buying one!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Revo is fairly new. It only has a .15 engine!!!!!! The Radio sucks!!!!!! Third party support is already hitting the shelves. Alot of great features you wont find on other monster trucks. Can easily be upgraded to a.21. You wont be disapointed!!!!!!!!
You make the call!!!!!!!!1
