Default Which truck do I buy??

Ok, I want a truck and here is my own personal choice:

*HPI savage
*T Maxx
*Monster GT

Anyone with a recommendation. Note: I am currently leaning towards getting a savage until my LHS told me that the savage is more for racing and although it can take a bashing it had high maintenance costs from general wear of parts? is this true?

Mine took the spur gear up in the first several tanks. It hasn't even nicked my Robinson Racing steel spur/CB combo though! If you don't want to mess with stripped spurs just invest in these parts.

That link says Savage .21 but I've had it on my savage .25 for almost half a year now with no problems at all. Just make sure you get the gears pitched correctly, the old rule of thumb is a piece of newspaper between the gears to get the spacing right, then clamp down the screws on the motor mount and feel the play in the gears.

Savage is a great truck. Anybody who says they arent good for racing probably has never raced one. I have always been faster on the track with my savage than any of the other MT's i have owned, and currently own. T-maxx?? I always liked my old t-maxx, and i like my sons 2.5 maxx. Its a great truck, limited to small blocks until you upgrade the drive train. MGT is a nice truck. Steering setup is really smooth on that truck. There is no steering slop in it. It does good on the track, and its got an indestructible chassis. I sold mine because i couldnt keep the plastic from breaking all the time. All of those mentioned trucks are good. I'd take the savage though.

The MGT is awesome. Id take it over the regular Savage SS kit. A bit of upgrades to make the Savage SS as troublefree as the MGT. MGT is rock solid like the Savage, but way easier to work on. The stock engine is super reliable as well and the PS is troublefree. Some speed tips to getting more is ditch the GT pipe AE threw on it, and get the FOC (foward only coversion). Its $15 for the FOC, and use any .21 pipe of your choice. That will give the MGT way more acceleration and more top speed with the new pipe. I own one and its the best MT I've ever had experience with. Durable, easy to work on, super reliable, and looks good. That's something I'd want especially when running nitros.

Mad force for bashing, I can bet that it will beat any of these trucks for durability, not speed, but power and durability (beside maybe the savage 4.6, might just win on the power), the MF wins every time

look its what your going to do with the truck ok people will say they have a good truck in one area but it will suck in another the SAVAGE can do huge ramps but its not as fast as like the revo which will be my next car. So it depends what your going to do with it.

GOOD LUCK

spur gears are a beotch on any truck...[:@] I am replacing the one on my MT2 as we speak, and I don't even have a gallon of fuel through it yet!! But that is what you get for ramping off of picnic tables and mashing the gas as it lands on its back tires!

I have a madforce they are great! there is no need for powerful engines upgrade exhaust and gearing to get this baby to wheelie coz its already built in,backyard bashing you cant beat it.
