quick question
My friend owns a t-maxx and thinks it has 37,000 rpms. I told him no it dosen't because the truck would be alot faster. i said it might have 26-28,000. I have looked left and right, up and down and can't find the rpm's any where on the net. Will someone please help me.

RE: quick question
The HPI Savage 25 does 38,000 RPM max and is it faster than the T-Maxx? No.
RPM's don't mean much, unless your are increasing them. Buying an engine with a higher RPM usually means sacrificing power someplace else. In the end the speed is determined by how large of a gear the engine can push, not the raw engine RPM.

RE: quick question
Actually, traxxas has claimed roughly 40,00 RPM's on that engine. Any good small block will pull more RPM's than a larger displacement engine. My sons maxx will out run any big block truck i have in this RC room. RPM's equal top end speed. The advantage to high RPM engines is gearing for torque, and still having RPM's left for a good top end. The opposite can be said about a big block. While a Picco .26 doesnt pull nearly as many R's as an average small block, it has the GRUNT to move the truck with larger clutch bells, and smaller spurs.
