Two ESC's instead of the EVX? Setup help needed...
Hey all,
I'm thinking of picking up an electric monster. The E-Maxx doesn't turn me on so I'm looking at the Twin Force by Kyosho. I don't want an EVX so I have a question:
Can I run a pair of Novak Explorer II's(one for each motor and battery pack) to get the same performance as 1 EVX? I ask because I already have 1 explorer on hand and another would be pretty cheap. I also heard the EVX is prone to failure and I'm not messing with constant returns or rebuys. I like the Explorer II so if I could run a "Y" connector to get the signal from the RX to both ESC's at the same time could I just run each battery pack/motor on it's own ESC?
Thanks for any and all setup help....

I am not sure about cars, but on electric heli's any time you use 2 esc's you need a mixer so that the two motors don't end up fighting each other on output. The EVX from what I understand splits an even signal to both motors while maintaining the same power to each. With ESC's (as with all electronics) no two are exactly alike in performance because of small irregularities in electrinc components resulting from manufacturing processes. This would result in a battle of the front end and rear end motors leading to bigger chances of an motor or ESC electronic failure.
