Ok #1 about the pull start...go buy one for the Savage, it is stronger and fits on without mods.

Factory settings for the XTM have changed and their are 2.

The HSN is 3 turns out. The LSN on the newer ones is 3 turns, the older is 7.75. To find out if it is old or new, try 8 turns out, if it looks like it is falling out then you have the new one.

If you are burnin up clutch shoes, try to see if you can pick up aluminum shoes. From past reviews and opinions, they are awesome to have.

the pullstarter is only as good as the user, we got two full seasons on one pullstarter...the cord ended up rotting, but the unit itself has held up....but there is a definite technique to using it.....always loosen the glow plug, only pull the cord one stroke at a time....this is one of the best starting motors around....but many guys seem to trash the pull starter...i guess it cant handle any abuse

i fixed my problems with pull starter, now i have problem idling, when i first start it starts at once from the second stroke and then as soon as i press gas it goes off, the HSN is fine i think its from the LSN they say in the manual 8 turns i put it now on 6 turns and its still rich, any ideas ???
