Default Diesel or Gas engines

I know this is some what off the forums topic but I'd like to know if my idea will work. I have found a website that makes an 1/8th scale gas car. The website is www.mecoa.com then go to the bottom of the page and click on Compagnucci R/C cars. I want to know if there is a company that makes diesel or gas engines for 1/10th & 1/8th scale cars and trucks. And if not do you'll think this engine will fit in my mayhem or MT. Please help me out.

in a way, our nitro motors are very similar to diesel motors. hell, the fuel even gels up when it gets cold just like diesel.

it would work well for a nitro powered rock crawler because they develop higher torque but at a sacrafice of rpms. they just arnt quite as fast as a normal nitro glow engine.

can you try to repost that link

I'm sorry that it runs on gasoline and not diesel the point I want to know is do anyone thinks that engine will fit in my mayhem or MT. I would rather run gasoline or diesel cause I believe it would be cheaper than nitro fuel plus I would get a better run time and probably less engine tuning.

you could fit it, with some major customization, you can do anything you put your mind to. it think you might be about to find a smaller engine tho too.

an easier way

[link=http://www.davisdieseldevelopment.com/diesel/index.htm]Diesel Power[/link]

find a cheap HPI .21 BB on evil bay and buy a diesel head to fit that engine,Ol'Bob Davis will hook ya up and has good deals on fuel too(you cant use the stuff at the pump)

Select English Language and then Racing M.C., unless ofcourse you can read Italian.

It is a 6.28cc engine producing 1.3HP at 17500 RPM
It can also run on Glow fuel.

I don't know how it is to build into an existing 1/8 truck.

Personally I would recommend a switch to 1/6 offroaders...... FUN, FUN, FUN. And Way faster than what I immaginned, but Ok. it is 20 years since I used to drive RC cars, and that was a Tamiya QD Electric buggy.

Happy driving from Greenland, the land of Santa

No it takes a special blend, not sure off the top of my head what its called but Bob davis sells the stuff. The run time doubles Vs the same tank full of nitro and its alot quieter than a barking nitro engine.I believe its cheaper too.

On a flat out run,say in a parking lot it dosent have the screaming top end like a nitro engine, but put it under a load like grass and it just hauls. The smell is another issue but a few drops of scented oil in the tank and its not too bad.

On the tight track we run at his .21 diesel savage puts the power down without the wheelspin and is 3 seconds faster per lap than the nitro powered trucks including my LST.

That sled sucked as nitro, just look at the throttle and the track would break traction instantly,(dang thing has pan car like gearing) now he can "chug" the engine without it breaking loose or over heating.

If i ever find away to get some video of these in action i will be sure to post it,but we dont have acess to a video camera.
