do a search...... in the beginning there were lots of bad reviews, but after the care packs were given out, people seem to have become very happy

What are you asking? or trying to say? You just bought a genesis, and now you're looking for reviews? Or are you searching for someone else that just bought a genesis, and want their review? Look around, there are many threads about this. Most of the older threads were locked due to arguing, flaming, bad language, etc. The Genesis was plagued with problems at release. They issued some care packages in a not so timely fashion from what i remember. The Genesis is still facing a huge challenge ahead. Its price is way too high. Gen owners have posted that the parts are expensive. I remember a post from an owner saying the tranny parts he thought he need would cost nearly as much as the whole truck. It got off to such a bad start, they will need to cut that price down ALOT to gain an audience. Good luck with the Gen if you have already bought it, or are still planning on buying one. Honestly, i think the truck will be discontinued if they dont find a better way to promote it. No company will continue to produce any product that does not sell.

i don know... iv never really heard bout anyone using traxxas fuel so im not sure how good it is... you should use whatever your lhs has in stock, if they only have top fuel then use it, but if they have other stuff then tell us what it is and people can give u their opinions, i have used trinity monster fuel in my lst and i loved it, lots o power and my engine runs relativly cool, i didn like blue thunder so much... kinda messy, leavs resadue in ur engine

good luck

The poster about the tranny was me. The cost to replace all the parts in the tranny would be more than the cost of a new truck and CEN does not sell a complete tranny, you have to buy the individual parts. The Genesis can be a very nice truck but you have to have a decent grasp of the RC hobby and be fairly adept at all things mechanical. In short do not buy this truck if you are new to the hobby and are looking to run right away.
Many of the other posters are correct in saying the radio is a piece of junk and many of the metal parts are made of sub-standard materials. I manged to completely destroy a "hardened steel " spur gear and the drive cups are very soft and wear very eaisly.
Don't get me wrong I love messing with my Genesis but I've spent several hundred dollars in repairs/parts on my truck and it's only just over 2 months old and it's spent about 4 weeks of those 2 months in pieces on the work bench.

I run O'Donnel Racing Fuel 20% in mine.

Best of luck,
Buster

What about buying a Nova head and getting a button for a Truckzilla?? The head is the same for the Truckzill and the Genesis, so I'm guessing a Truckzilla button would work. Just an idea!!

never mind found a new truckzilla button at www.novarcproducts.com so i'll just order it from them with a new nova head at the same time it's $12.95usd but well worth it if you ask me should be a much bettor material then the stock cen one now should i buy a truckzilla head or the cen head to go with it or do you think it would matter.

http://www.novarcproducts.com/headbuttons.html

Hey all

Its michael from Denmark

Now i been reeding about the Genesis alot, and i never had have eny probs. whit my Genesis i just can not get it in to 3rd. gear.
Whats up whit that, i tried the new settings that Andrew Smolnik and Mike Walker has come up whit, but nothing is happening, so now i had order a newInternal expanding clutch, part nr. GS068.
I think that this part have got some grease on it and now it is spinning around ind the Gearclutch part nr. GS051.
The engine is reving up and down when i give full throtle, and that gave me the idea that it is in the assembly line in CenRacing factory that the problem is.

Hi Michael,

are you sure you're not already running in 3rd?

Sometimes the problem is that the truck engages the 3rd gear before the second and then is not able anymore to engage the second.

Try this, screw in all the way the two screws of the 3rd clutch.

Do the same with the second gear.

Run the truck, you're in 1st!

Now unscrew the 2nd clutch 3 1/2 turns or until it shifts at a speed you like.

once you're happy with that start to unscrew the 3rd gear (7 1/2) till when you're happy with that.

Take care not to shif into 3rd before it shifts in second!!

I hope it'll work out, have fun.

Ciao
