i would think 2 savage shocks wouldnt even fill up a LST shock. but having 2 shocks on each arm can be a benifit, lets say your racing with one big shock on each arm, and happen to break the shaft, well your outa that race, unless your vechile can take only 3 shocks. and then lets say you have 2 shocks on each arm, and your racing, and you happen to break 1 of the 2 shocks shafts, well you still driving, and the suspension should still work, depending on your spring stiffness, and oil.

the larger bore works more efficeintly. it has more small holes in the piston as opposed to fewer big holes.
also the larger shock is much more durable. the larger shaft means less chance of breakage.
