In the market for nitro monster truck...
I'm pretty sure that i've narrowed it down to either a Mad Force or an Monster GT, and i'm having trouble deciding on which one i should get. I've read as many reviews as i can find...and i still can't decide. I'll mainly be using the truck on a beach that also has some hard, gravely hills, probably on a grassy field with a baseball diamond, and every once and a while @ the track. I've never had a nitro truck before, all my experiance is with electric & even that isn't much because i used those trucks (RC10T2 & a USA-1) when i was around 10 years old. 'd just like to hear from people who own these trucks, and what you think of them, and if u can...give me a recommendation on what i should do. Thanks in advance

anyone else have an opinion? I'm beginning to lean towards the MGT for the simple reason of parts availability. but i'm also worried that since the MGT is RTR, when it comes time to fix it/do maitenance, i'll have more trouble with it, because i didn't put it together. thats prolly my biggest concern with the MGT (or all RTRs for that matter)

Out of the two you mention the MGT is better cause you said you may go to the track. Solid axles don't do good at the track.
But i would recommend the TNX. I have a MGT and TNX and like the TNX much better.

I would say the TNX is an awesome truck out the box.I would go for the Proline edition.That way you can race right out the box.You will also have the stock parts for bashing.I love mine,and that thing is fast.

there are three things you have to look at when you buy a truck.
1. Is it an HPI?
2. Can you get parts locally?
3. It is nice, durable, and cool looking? {see No. 1}

thats my biggest problem with a revo, i think that a monster truck should have big block motor in it. Like i said before, if traxxas were to make a revo with a .21 engine mount and empty radio box, i would be first in line.

RE: In the market for nitro monster truck...
why? the 2.5r on the Revo makes the Revo fast enough, stock. (40+mph) ... That's faster than most MT's. The Revo has enough power out of the box to pop wheelies... at the track, Revos dominate (from what I've heard... I don't race). The 2.5r is lightweight... which makes the revo lighter, and handles better. So, in essence... WHO CARES? If the engine says that it's a .15 or a .21, or a .28... it doesn't matter.. the Revo can hold it's own. I'm only putting the .23 on mine because I CAN get more power... and with a .23 the Revo will rip apart any other MT put against it... even the Savage ss 4.6 because the Power/weight ratio is so much better. What do you have over a .28 that can make the Savage ss 4.6 compete with the Revo? There's not much... it's just like the old argument of full scale cars... I've heard the story time and time again that a Nitrous-injected, turbo-powered 4 cylinder can beat a Naturally-Asperated 8-cylinder... well of course it can. What happens when you put a Nitrous-injected, turbo-powered 8-cylinder against the 4? BLOWS IT OUT OF THE WATER. When you've gone as far as you can go... you've gone as far as you can go...

once again i sense anger, i never said that the savage .28 was faster, i just like big engines, revo with a .23 is untouchable, so thats my point, if you can make it untouchable, make it untouchable.

Which is what I'm doing. I think the Wasp .26 on a Revo might be more untouchable, but... I like the TM323. Again, not anger... just confident.
*EDIT* If I was angry... instead of all the time... you'd see... [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@] more often.
