Default older truck... new problem (HELP!)

ok well i got an older my its a duratrax Thunder Quake 1/8 scale and the stock motor was originally tuned.. but when i got to get the motor check and sh*t they tuned it all back to stock (the needles for throttle and stuff) so now i start it up and it will idle fine and if i give it very very slight gass it will move fine.. but the second i have to either slow down (if i slow down it dies completely) and if i hit the gas fast it boggs down and almost dies and if i gas it long enough it will die.. and i think its runnign too rich but i'm not sure.. n e help would be nice

on my thunder quake its still got the torq .21 that it came with , the factory settings are HSN 3 turns out LSN flush with the housing. Mine are set at HSN 2.5 turns out, LSN still flush with the housing and runs great. Hope that helps!

The high speed needle is the brass fitting sticking strait up on the carbuator, the low speed needle is on the same side but under the high speed. hope that helps! Have any more questions just hollar.

tuning isnt a permanent thing.
RC Nitro engines are tuned on a knife edge to get peak performance. as such an engine will be sensitive to things such as ambiant pressure/temperature and humidity. So a truck that is fantasticly tuned today may not even start tomorrow.
go back to factory settings, start her up get her running nice and hot with about 5 mins of driving, and then lean her out in tiny increments, each time you lean the engine a little have a run up and down the road and see if there is an improvement, when you stop getting an improvement - stop leaning her out - however, if there isnt loads of smoke coming out the exhaust right through the throttle range(including WOT WideOpenThrottle) then you are too lean so richen up a bit.

HSN controls the mix of fuel and air going into the engine. the LSN does the same, but is effected by HSN changes (so if you lean/richen the HSN you automaticly lean/richen the LSN a little too, so if you change the HSN the LSN will also change - so set the HSN first, then the LSN after otherwise you will keep undoing whatever you do). The LSN only controls the amount of fuel entering the engine at tickover-about 1/4 throttle, so it is used to control the speed the the truck will launch and how it will behave at tickover - there are loads of systems for getting a perfect tune for both the HSN and the LSN - if you look through the threads you will find one. Frost keeps posting a pretty good one.
