So, I hate derailing the topics setup here. It seems that anytime I post something ... someone has to debate it whether or not it has anything to do with the topic... or whether or not it has ANY relevance to R/C... so... I am starting this as an off-topic post so that those who enjoy debating me for things I say... they sure can. The rules for this topic is... feelings do not get hurt... let's keep it civil... I would rather not get this thread closed due to stupid people... so, let's stay ON-topic of OFF-topic debates... The first one... 2DMaxLST is arguing my "I have spent LESS than $30 on repairs" ... I have proven my case, however it is said that Warranty items... and removing parts are not acceptable to count as "free" in his book. So... in MY book... here is the break-down
Shock rod ends & shaft(2) - $1
Spur Gear (2) - $6
Front A-arm set (2) 1 free replacement ... one $6 from online source
Rear A-arm set (1) - $6 from online source
Reverse gear (optidrive sensor gear) Just took it out... - $0
Bent a turnbuckle (bent it back) - $0
PRO-1 rocker arm - Switched to LT's.. Free mod - $0
Rear Differential - Replaced by Traxxas - $0
EZ-Start case (landed upside down from 10 ft. high on asphalt) - $10
Now, let's do the math... 1+6+6+6+10= $29 ... which is UNDER $30
Somehow 2DMaxLST is getting $30... not sure how... now, according to HIS interpretation... Warranty items and removed parts do count towards the total... so... here we go... (we are assuming that since the person can't get warranty items nor remove their parts, they can't access the online stores and get the discounts... so we will take ALL repairs from the Traxxas part list and/or marketed price for the aftermarket parts)
Shock rod ends & shaft(2) - $11 (Rebuild kit as opposed to the individual parts)
Spur Gear (2) - $6
Front A-arm set (2) 1 free replacement ... one $6 from online source - $15
Rear A-arm set (1) - $7.50
Reverse gear (optidrive sensor gear) Just took it out... - $12.50 (Forward Only Conversion)
Bent a turnbuckle (bent it back) - $10
PRO-1 rocker arm - Switched to LT's.. Free mod - $8
Rear Differential - Replaced by Traxxas - Gearset - $12 Oil - $7.50 Housing - $4 = $23.50
EZ-Start case (landed upside down from 10 ft. high on asphalt) - $7.50 (maybe I was wrong on that one before... )
RB Concepts TM323 - $300 from Sigma Trading... cheaper elsewhere... since 2DMaxLST claims that my 2.5r was replaced because it was worn out...
Total - $401 ... so.. if that makes you happy, then fine... however that's not how much I've spent... I think I miscalculated the EZ-start case in the first example... so, take off 2.50... so instead of $29, it would be $26.50

Revofamily: I mis calcualted. I read your first number 2*$1, my bad. Let do something more constructive with our time. The Revo is a great truck. You've spent $30 out of pocket on your Revo in 8 months, that's super and stuff.
The only reason you get so much flak and people respond to you in a negative way is you talk to people in a condescending manner, among other things. You are a newb with a Revo and you are loving life, I get it!!

Yep... only thing is... this is about as constructive as it gets on these forums... hehehe... I have found that there's not much intellegent conversation around here... (including some of my posts) Simple miscalculation...
No biggie... I thought I did the math wrong... or I missed something.... too many people are too opinionated to have an intelligent conversation.... or even a constructive conversation... I tried to find something "constructive" in the forums... but not much to find... honestly, it's a great waste of time. Since it's like 115 outside during the days and the only time it's not too hot it's dark... I haven't been able to run my Revo lately. I planned on doing it this week, but haven't had time... too busy... I'll definitely get to the track next week sometime... perhaps on Thursday I can meet up with you... and run... just for kicks. I have yet to run on this track... so, I'm not sure what to expect. I have to tune my engine now, though... took it bashing in the mountains and screwed with the HSN, so I took it back to factory and have to tune it.... I'd rather do that here than the track...

So, my total has changed ... I melted a spur gear and somehow lost all the spur screws due to a missing engine mount screw that I'm not sure when I lost... I think that will push me over the $30 ...
