Default Sportwerks Mayhem ST - worth getting?

Im in the market for a new truck / truggy... my GS SUT doesnt seem to be holding up to "my" racing...

I just got home from a race this weekend and a sportwerks mayhem st took 1st place in MT A-Main... i was very impressed...

I just want to know some other people's opinions and thoughts on this truck... good or bad... any info is good info...

I rather have the mammoth ST, hi-torque servo stock, more race oriented tires, 50 mph top speed, and only 340$!

My brother is getting a mayhem next week, Has anybody here actually taken one out of the box and checked it out? I have and I wouldnt mind getting one, Maby I will if I can come up with some more $$$$$$. I would much rather have a mayhem than a Mammoth, I dont really like turnbuckles as part of the main structure like in the mammoth and it doesnt have much suspension travel either, but it is fast. They reviewed the mayhem in the latest issue of rcca and they had more good than bad to say about it and it does 48 mph uh not 50 pretty close though.

I saw one at the local hobby shop today. It looks like every other truggy...nothing special, but the Losi starting system is a nice touch. The JR radio is a step up from the usual RTR crap too (even though it's still just an AM)... Personally, I would get the Storm due to parts availability.

The Mayhem ST is short, that is the only reason I will not even consider it. The LSP, SUT CE, JAMMIN CRT, HPI HELLFIRE, Etc..... all have extended chassis. I drove a SUT PRO this year and my LSP, the difference is too big to put into words, the longer chassis just plain works.

I agree. The wheelbase is what concerned me on the Mayhem. 13.5" is about the same as my Jammin buggy or Revo. The longer chassis is what makes the truggies jump and handle better than monster trucks, along with the center diff. Most other truggies do have a longer wheelbase.
