Default New MGT is unresponsive!!

I just got my MGT today and was sooo psyched but when testing the radio, the thing simply does not respond. Throttle servo moves around a bit on its own at first and than is unresponsive,as for the steering it does absolutely nothing. Anyone have any suggestions? Im pretty new at all this and needless to say very disapointed

Low batts. Get new ones or recharge them.

I am sure things are fine... I am assuming you are using a 4 'AA' pack for the MGT? Make sure that the black/read cable connector is securely fastened to the receiver and make sure the wires are in good shape. Make sure the batteries are aligned properly with good connection. Make sure the servos are correctly plugged in all of the way.

I highly doubt that the truck is a dud out of the box. Probably just an oversight. Don't get too excited and work through it, and everything will be fine.

Oh, and batteries can be bad out of the package depending on type and age. My wife has gotten the cheapies from the 99c store, and they have been bad out of the box. Get some fresh alkalines, Duracell or Energizer.

If new batteries don't help, make sure the truck and controller have the correct crystals. Maybe some one mixed them up. The higher number goes in the controller.

Well sure enough brand new batteries werent strong enough to do the job, I bought a 5 cell hump pack, charged it and that did the trick.

Do you think its still worth doing the 4th channel mod anyway, would that give a boost to performance/responsiveness?

By the way thank you all so much for your speedy responses, being new I guess I get a little bent outa shape too fast , I need to step back and think things through.
