It's just a freakin' truggy guys. Nothing special about it, esp. since no one sees it winning any big races. I don't see what the hype is about? I mean, I understood the hype about the Jammin Truggy, as it's super successful, but this is just another truggy coming onto the market. Sorry to be negative, but I really don't see how it's so special. I can understand the Hype about the 1/5 HPI buggy, because it looks super scale, it's fast, awesome run-times, and it's not to badly priced.

actually it is not a truggy
It is not based off of a buggy like truggies are. it is pretty much a stadium truck with MT feature (the mt2 ring a bell)
to be a truggy it needs to be based off of a buggy or a mt needs to be turned with buggy parts.

I feel like this has some new - unique features and design elements that sents it apart from other truggys, MTs, or whatever else class people say its from or needs to be. Now, will that help me be more competitive, who knows.....handle better, who knows....again it hasnt been raced or won "big races" but I still feel its gonna be a nice machine....also consider the price. its under 6 bills - the jammin is that much without motor and radio gear. Now I know most of us wont use the radio gear but to get into a nice truggy (or whatever) and have to buy a motor and all that adds up. Most people I know with hte jammin truggy are 1000 plus into it - for people just wanting to get into an unlimited class with good quality and parts support this could be the ticket. I like the camber blocks and how they are put together, I like how the diffs come out, the motor mount is done up, and of course all the fine tuning adjustments. Now do all diffs come out, ya of course but my point is they put some thought into it and it does look good......I guess we will have to see if can hold up to the hype - I personally think it will.
Just my 2 cents

I like the looks of this truck allot, instead of buying another motor for my LST I might just try this thing out!
There is an unlimited\truggy class? Funny how I am racing all those truggys with my LST every week

Notice also that the Jammin is an actual truggy, and is very different from the Hellfire.
I say this since some of you don't call the hellfire a truggy, and so i'm going by what you're saying

The Hellfire is the BEST truck out!! Sorry, I couldn't resist.....I knew someone else was going to say it, so rather than get mad at them, I figured I would just say it myself.
Hellfire = Truggy

Ehhhhhhhhh who cares what it is. It looks like it will perform, and as long as it does it's job, then everyone will be happy. I do not expect a truck I paid 600 bucks for RTR is gonna handle a 600 dollar kit. I am sure there is a reason the Jammin guys have over a grand into their rides.
But I would say nice truck!!!! 600 bucks is about the max I like to spend on a new truck for everything, including engine, so it does not look like a bad deal.
You guys talk about this thing not winning any big races. Has it even been ran in some big races? All I have seen is HPI promoting it, I have not heard anything about how it handles, it's accleration, top speed, ect.....
All I'm wondering is, is how some of you guys wanna judge it, when it's not even out yet.........

well said.............only time will tell if it willperform the way they say it does.......but for six bill it had better or there will be a whole bunch of ticked off people. for about the same money you can pick up a mayhem st...........or two mammy st's.
i do however like the looks of the truck and will seriously be considering it for my next investment, but not untill other people have put there money down and put it to the test.

This truck looks great to me honestly. Go over the features of the truck, and look at all the quick change settings it has. If you are a racer, you'll appreciate that. I've heard this truck actually looks really good on the track. Apparently the HPI team has been doing some testing, and racing with it on the Cali tracks. I cant see how anybody could say anything bad about it. Its not even out yet. But if i had to speculate, i'd think it will be one of the best outlaw trucks. Why do i say that? Look at how durable they made the savage over time. Now look at all the racing attributes this Hellfire has. Add em together, with support that NO ofna will ever have.... And you have a winner. I will own this truck.

I'm with you thermal, the feature set is great and the price seems competitive. Quick change looks awesome and yes, the savage is way durable. I will own this truck also. I would have purchased it instead of the Lesser expensive Mayhem ST, but it's not out yet!!! And I wanted to start racing now. If I have the money, I will be one of the guys that buys it first to tell you other dudes that are skeptical that it rocks!!!!!! Just keep your fingers crossed.....

There is going to be a kit version available, the info is on the HPI site.
If there is enough people at the races in my area I'd consider giving the hellfire a try. Not serious enough to by a 600 kit w/o engine.

Yeah, exactly. But if the kit is 4 bills or something like that, then I might take it. Or else I would just take my 6 bills and get the jammin.

I saw 2 hellfires last week and they were impressive. They were taking the buggys on the straightaways. They were neck to neck with them other known truggies like the jammin x1crt, and the mugen truggy. The mammoth had a tough time racing against them though. He had the stock wheels, that's what killed him.

I am an electric guy and always have been but things at my track are so crazy with this truggy class I am considering picking one up.
The open MT class is super fun and competative. My big issues are price and from my limited racing experience (just this season). I do see one thing.....A GOOD DRIVER WILL BEAT YOU IN A PEACE OF CRAP 200.00 TRUCK JUST AS EASILY AS HE/SHE WILL BEAT YOU IN A 1000.00 TRUCK. I run a totally done up E-maxx brushless race truck and run the open class at my track and I have been in enough mains to have seen my fair share of truggy's, MT's of all kind and have actually ahead of both in my electric Maxx. I have watched good racers with MT's run away from the truggy guys (Yes the Jammin truggy). Sooooooooooooo With all that said and the idea that I will never be a PRO racer (just a weekend warrior at the local track) I am thinking that I can get into this new HPI, and be a bit more competative, mainly becuase of wheelbase and suspension. I also don't have to go out and spend a ton of money to get into the gas truck scene. I love my E-maxx and it is definately a novelty on the track but lets face it. No matter how fast it is, it is still old school in the suspension department and wheelbase. I have driven a new Jammin truck and was extremely impressed with it's handling, forgiveness on the bumps and jumps and it's stability compared to my maxx. I believe I can and was turning faster lap times with it also but for me to get into one I am well over 1K with not only a moter, radio gear, servos but also starter box and such since I don't have gas RC's at this time.
All the talk about the Jammin truggy and all it's hype is great but in the real world (my weekend warrior world), a Jammin truggy in my hands is no more a world class truggy than any other truggy, and that holds true for most of us. All the titles and hype about it are all becuase it is in the hands of some of the best Pro's on the scene today. My take is that if you put a Hellfire in the hands of some of the same guys, the Hellfire would receive all the same hype and win all the same big races.
It's always nice to have the latest greatest "best" product but I am going to definitely look at the Hellfire before I make my decision to step into the truggy scene. At this point I see it (considering all the others on the market) as the best bang for the buck. I would like to here from anyone who has one and see some of the first reviews of it before I purchase.
Thanks fro listening: n2dwild

This truck looks to be good. The backbone of this truck is a buggy, just like the CRT. HPI had a lot of product sharing with Hot Bodies and looks like it started there and then improved on it. I'm waiting to see how much the kit is since I have every thing to make a kit ready to run.
The only thing I can see that I didn't like was the body wing. I would prefer a mounted buggy like wing and it seems that the rear towers allow it with ease.
I'm in the market for a truggy and I'm waiting for a few to be released and this one makes it even harder to choose from.
