Reavo or Savage
Hey, I was thinking of getting one of the trucks, but can not decide, So i'm depanding on the ones that have these trucks to help me decide. first I was wondering what is needed to make a Savage 25 perfrom just as good as a Revo with a big block .21 or more. BUt the thing that I have thought that would make a Savage perfrom with a Revo is the 3 speed tranny, a more powerful motor, and a major weight loss, so what you guy think need to be done to make a Savage perfrom just as good as a Revo with a .21 or more.

what he said. But I must add, serious bashing on Savage, and the REVO can bash, but it's more fit for racing.
and It's REVO, not REAVO.

RE: Reavo or Savage
Well, although that's what the topic was... I don't really think that's what he was asking... his question was... what would a Savage need to compete with a .21+ Revo... to be honest with you, I don't know.... since going from 1.3HP to 2.3+ will be MUCH more of a difference than going from a 2.5hp to 3hp... Speed-wise... I don't think a Savage would be able to compete with a .21+ Revo. The Revo can handle bashing... trust me... I do it...

RE: Reavo or Savage
and revofamily, you said that the revo would be going from 1.3 hp to 2.3 hp, and the savage would be going from 2.5 to 3 hp, but lets say I was to put the surefire .32 in the Savage which puts out 3.6, so than would it be a good race

RE: Reavo or Savage
Wait I think I have mess this up.
I really want to know what would win in a drag race, bashing and racing. And let just say that all revo has is a .21 that puts out 2.6 hp. But the Savage SS 4.6 has a .32 that puts out 3.6 hp, and a 3 speed. Now what do you think will win in all of the 3 above

RE: Reavo or Savage
The LST with a .32
I seriously think you might as well buy a LST. It owns the Savage and revo at bashing(though it needs a set of RPM a-arms.), and it is an excellent racer.
The Revo will probably win the race, because it is much lighter. I mean, a LST outruns a Savage with .28 motor and a 3 speed. I saw a LST(stock. not even different tires) and a revo(set up to race) race. The LST was as fast as the Revo, and it out accelerated it. You wonder what the LST would do with a race motor, and good racing tires. The LST smashed into the Revo, and the Revo went flying

RE: Reavo or Savage
The reason is that if I get the LST2, i would have to pay 650 dollars and it would be stock, BUt if I get a Savage SS 4.6 for 350, and I already have a radio that i'm not useing so I can put is in the savage., then I can get the .32 for about 200, whiich equals 650, and a stock LST2 would not be able to keep up.

I haven't seen an LST2 in person, but from the photos it looks very "toyish" in my opinion... I dont doubt it goes hard, but out of the box it looks like a kids remote control toy car.

RE: Reavo or Savage
but this truck is what 13 or 14 pounds, and come prepared to a Savage that weighs i think 11-12 pound, I think the Savage would be fast off the line

RE: Reavo or Savage
The TNX looks beasty I think, I'd either get the Savage for bashing or the TNX or Revo for racing. I think the Revos looks real good, as does the TNX but LST2's just look straight up cheap and aren't worth the money I dont think regardless of how fast they go. Gotta remember tho the Revo is 1/10th scale and the Savage is 1/8th scale, so obvioulsy the Revo will be faster because it's smaller and lighter but I'd stay away from the LST2 personally.

RE: Reavo or Savage
I think as said in a few posts, the Revo would still win because the 3 speed tranny isn't good for racing. Also I dont think it's a good comparison using a 1/10th scale truck versus a 1/8th scale truck...

RE: Reavo or Savage
yes it is a nice truck, but if you are a person that bashes, and races about 1 a month, than a Savage would be your best choice.

A LST holds up better to bashing than a Savage 2fast2slow. And a LST stock(not LST 2) beat a hopped up Revo in acceleration. Does that tell you something? The LST was eventually chased down, but it stayed on the Revo's heels. Imagine the LST with some hopups.

Before you go buying a TNX, I would check and see if you can get parts for it. From what I hear, it is rather hard to get parts for it here in the states.

Just a matter of personal taste I guess, I like aggressive looking trucks not toy-ish looking trucks... I dont know how the TNX runs, I was just judging on looks alone. At least it actually looks like a truck, the LST2 doesn't know what it wants to be :P

RE: Reavo or Savage
I read on savage central, someone summed it up well... It doesn't have a monster truck look, more of a monster truggy look. I agree with that, that's the only real issue I have with it. They should of chose a better stock bodyshell.
