important info if looking to buy awarhead
hey all sorry about the wrong forum, cant find a genral disscussion for MT's.
i work at a local hobby shop doing repairs on r/c's and we have sold quite a few new duratrax warheads. they are nice strong trucks and build quality is good, but there is a problem the clutch spring is way too weak!!! its a 2 shoe clutch i dentical in all respects to a t-maxx clutch. heres the problem the spring allows the clutch to slide along the bell heating up the bell well it ends up melting the spur gear and damaging the bell, clutch, and could possibly lead to an engine overheat condition while breaking it in. duratrax has been spoken to and is fixing the problem as we speak. good fix just get a t-maxx clutch and it drops rite in. it also seems like a sturdier cluth. well just wanted to let u guys know. have fun be good and beat'em sensless!!

RE: important info if looking to buy awarhead
here are my points on it -i love the chassis design its verticle plates like a savage but the motor and all is mounted extremely low in the chassis so low u could use a starter box if u wanted to! but has the same ground clearence as the other MTS of that design. the suspension is super plush from the factory w/ decent threaded shocks fairly stiff springs and good rebound, i havent bashed it but ive driven one and broke them in has really good power good cornering and havent had a hard time tuning one yet since we figured out the clutch issue. seems like a really good entry into the MT thing for a good price think there a little over 4 bills. if they were available as a kit or rollin chassis id consider one. it may be early to say but i think duratrak has a great contender w/ this truck.

It's a great truck besides the plastic steering servo saver parts are junk!!! [:@]
You guys should go check out the "anyone got a warhead?" post. We post a lot in there about this truck.
It's new, it's cool, quite sturdy and pretty fast. I have my problems, but they are nill. I am gonna give it time and hope the aftermarket picks up where DT left off.
